That lucky chick is at the Boston Marathon today! She posted that she was going to take a day off from work to get to see that - sounds fun to me!

Thanks for the reminder. Now that you mention it I do remember her saying she was going to take today off. I just didn't notice any posts from her over the weekend either.

I'm baaacccckkkk!

It was a long, mixed bag weekend. We had the tiny terror for his first solo sleepover at our house. I'm pleased to say the terror was replaced by an angel - he was sweet, adorable, as agreeable as a 5-yr-old can be, and much more sociable around the other kids in the neighborhood than he's ever been. We'll definitely take both of them, but separately, as long as they want to keep coming back.

I'm in full assault from a vicious cold - that cough and stuffiness I felt at the end of last week has blossomed into a nasty bronchial cough, full head, and runny nose I can't keep up with. Ugly. Fighting it off with OTC meds - Coricidin HBP at night so I don't turn into a mouth-breather, Robitussin during the day to keep the cough from tightening up, and good old Advil when I need to take the edge off the headache. And lots of H2O to drown this thing. It's helping a little.

We did go to the Marathon, we didn't stay out as long as we usually do; it was a last-minute decision for me to go at all. The humidity and poor air quality really bothered my breathing and sneezing. I sound like a big whiner when you put in perspective the conditions the runners had to deal with, but, again, I didn't choose to 1) become sick or 2) run on a day when an otherwise sane person would have said "no way". We had a short casual lunch and visit with my ILs and headed home. We were back in our house before 3:30; the vast majority of runners were still on the course at that hour, and some of them didn't finish the race until after 7 pm.

Anyway, back to the grind, box of tissue at the ready. Been through one box of 300 already. Going for two!
