Good morning! Yesterday and the beginning of today turned out to be a real bear! We suspected that Dad had had another minor stroke in his sleep sometime early Sunday morning, but we could not get him to go to the hospital when he should have. I'd checked in a couple of times and done what I could and that was about it.
Today, I had left around noon to run errands and take Rob to the eye dr. for his exam and contact lens fitting. On the way back, I got a call from my sister here telling me that Mom had sent us all an email around 2 to let us know she was taking Dad to the emergency room. He had felt too bad to go earlier than then. Lisa was heading over to see what was going on and to offer moral support, but had a mandatory meeting this evening and had been running a fever herself since last night. I told her to go to her meeting and head home that I'd head right to the hospital.
It was rush hour traffic and some lunatic on I-95 northbound was racing at about 80 mph cutting in and out of traffic as though he had a death wish. He cut in front of me, but what was really bad is he almost immediately cut in front of the car in the lane to the right of me with literally little more than a car length between it and the car behind it. If the guy being cut off hadn't slammed on breaks there'd have been a bad wreck that I'd probably have been involved in! I watched him do this up the highway as he left me in his dust, and I finally called 911 about it before he killed someone. They said they'd get an officer over to that area, but shortly north of there you can continue on I-95 N.

Hope Rob likes his contacts - Danny goes Sat. morning to get exam and fitted for contacts. He can't see anything from a distance! Poor kid!
Just getting caught up with everything from my one-day vacation. There's nothing like coming back to work after one day off to make you feel valuable to your employer!
I haven't read all the other Tuesday posts (or the rest of the weekends, for that matter). Rhonda, I hope you've got some answers about your dad's situation by now. And that you've got some sleep today. Sorry to hear about Tim having to threaten a doctor switch to get some attention from them; that's a drastic step no one wants to have to make under any situation, much less when you're feeling like - well, you know.
I'd like to ask you all for prayers for one of my coworkers and his sons. Dave lost his wife, Elizabeth, to metastatic colon cancer Monday evening, after a game fight against the disease. She was diagnosed about a year ago, and was given weeks to live at the time. She fought hard, went through some murderous treatments, and managed to eke out a little more time with her family. Dave and his sons need lots of prayers to get through this difficult time.
My headcold sounds like a hangnail next to all this, but I won't be working out this evening. Just trying to eat healthily, and getting some serious sleep until I get some energy back.
I promise to read all your posts from throughout the weekend.

I'm waiting on word from Danny about his doctor's apptmt. His back is hurting still. He pitched last night and has a game tonight. I hope he gets a doctor's note to sit out for awhile from baseball and Athletics!
I am planning a weights workout tonight. I'm hungry and YES, I'm cutting way down on the carbs and sweets after seeing the scales!
Have a great day all!
