Yeah, I love Fridays, even though I'm not working out of the home these days. There's still something special, and we treat it as such.
Donna - yep, time to see the doc. I'm prone to getting sinus or ear infections from colds, and they don't go away on their own.
Sassy - sorry to hear about the stomach bug. Nasty thing, we put up with it in our household, and it takes a few days to return to normal.
Deb (dmm) - what a week you've had, and to get a workout in... YOU GO!
Rhonda - glad to hear your dad is coming home. Very encouraging indeed.
Me? I'm just a *little* sore from yesterday's run, just using muscles again. I watered the yard and pulled some weeds yesterday too... after my nap! Today, I'm feeling much more awake without the hormonal headache (AF's "big day" was yesterday), so today UB and LB with abs - I'm highly motivated right now. Laying pinestraw. Grocery shopping to pick up a few items. Sub sandwiches tonight. I'll do the menu planning and main grocery shopping tomorrow.
Yesterday was a busy day for me, so I'm just going to relax a bit today. It sure is nice to have dh home to help out with the kids! Heck it's just nice to have dh home period!
We went out to dinner last night (Italian/Greek) with 2 other couples. We ordered three appetizers for the table. The "Appy Platter for Two" that came was huge. Kalamari with Tzatziki, greek salad, dolmades, spanakopita, etc. All delicious! As was the hummous and the saganki. For dinner I had grilled lamb chops, only a couple of bites of the roast potatoes and gobbled down the broccoli, cauliflower and peppers. I wasn't really thinking about it and in fact, they have an extensive pasta menu that didn't even appeal to me! After dinner we went for a nice stroll around the inner harbour and through the gardens at the parliament buildings, then back along the waterfront. There was a bit of a breeze, but it wasn't cold. Made for a very pleasant evening. Came home and had some tea and an early night. Slept like a log. Must have been the fresh air.
I didn't weigh in this morning. I think I'll wait until Monday, which will be the end of phase 1 of SBD. I haven't been perfect, but I'm really feeling positive this time round and I'm really pleased with the results. It's sure nice to feel the clothes loosen up. Now that the eating is under control, I've must concentrate on getting some more exercise in. I'm shooting for some weights today. Of course, AF is playing games with me. Showed up this morning after only 3 weeks instead of 4. Perhaps this is the beginning of the end!
I talked to my sister yesterday and she is faithfully attending Curves. She said she was up 4.5 lbs, but has lost 5" since starting. So, I reassured her that it was a good thing! The 4.5 lbs. is most surely muscle that she is building! She's sounding very positive about it all and I'm really proud of her for sticking to it. She's been overweight for at least 10-15 years and is/was a borderline diabetic, so I'm hoping this weight loss might help her.
No big plans for the weekend, but if the weather improves I'm thinking I'll seed my vegetable garden.
And who put this into your brain: "I know...sounds like a little bitty thing but I'm really trying to learn to listen better and see how everything fits together." Oh, I don't know, maybe....SAA-TAN! (imagine my best Church Lady imitation).
Of COURSE it was confirmation. It just doesn't HAPPEN, you know!
It's the cross we fanatical, God-loving folks must bear!
I've been checking out old SNL videos and DVD's on Amazon...thinking about stocking up on the "Best of SNL" from the days when SNL was actually GOOD! You know...the late 70's, into the 80's! Although I did enjoy the Dana Carvey (sp) era...church lady, George Bush the First, etc. I think I'll get Russell a few for our anniversary in September.
