Taking a break & making brownies for ds - I did put soapy water in the bowl 'cause I'm prone to go for the brownie batter! I just ran out of paper towels cleaning windows, screens, miniblinds, stove, fridge, appliances, bathrooms, mirrors, etc. so have to make a run for the store! I will take an old comforter ds uses on the couch to the heavy duty machines while I go to the store & library. My comforter on my bed will fade I bet, so I will have to take it to the dry cleaners. Do you all have your comforters dry cleaned?

I'm sure I'm doing things today that you all normally do quite often - but today is a rainy day & not a good day to wash walls, baseboards and carpets! I wanted to clean my car, but will wait on sunshine for that, too.

So what's the best way to clean mini-blinds? I used a washcloth and Orange Clean 409 - tedious! My house smells really nice and citrusy though! Speaking of nice smells, does anyone remember Jubilee Wax for counters and bathrooms - I loved that smell growing up & it shined everything up so nice!

What alot of work,Kat!!Nope, can't say it's something I do often. A few years back I tried washing the blinds in the bathtub.Filled it up and let them soak in there.Hope you took some time today to relax also.I was worried to read you were feeling weak.Don't cut back too far on food!!!!

Ok, I'll have to try that (putting them in bathtub) with the kitchen door blinds next chance I get - didn't get to them today. I hope I don't mess them up! LOL! I'm very unhandy. Thanks for the tip, Princess.

HI Kat,

LOL, my living room gets "spring cleaned" when I take the Christmas tree down in January. I "spring cleaned" my bedroom on a whim in February. The kitchen is still wanting, but I've been holding off, because it's gonna get Spring, Summer and Fall cleaned when I repaint it!!! :)

Oh my goodness, I so know what you mean about smelling good. I didn't want to leave my bedroom after I cleaned it! *Everything* got pulled out and vacuumed and dusted and deodorized and........well, you get the picture. It smelled so delicious when it was done! I wish it stayed that way! LOL

I usually just vacuum my mini blinds, but I had a friend who used to take hers down and squirt them with the hose.

I've never done "spring cleaning" as such - I vacuum somewhat regularly, dust every 3-4 months, wash windows once a year, I've never washed the curtains... and I'm not working out of the home. I do the mini blinds when I notice the dust is *really* thick. We turn most of ours slanting down towards the window rather than towards the room, and believe it or not, that lessens the dust buildup. The blinds in the kitchen above the sink I do more often, because it gets splashed with water from the sink or soaking pans when I dump them carlessly. I just use mildly soapy water to clean the blinds.
