Question for successful dieters

Currently, I am using Weight Watchers Points system. I started out good but my old habit is harder to break than I originally thought! Last night, I truly meant to eat 1 serving of a chicken quesadilla and after finishing a second serving, heard my dh ask if this meal was on the Points program. Yikes! It was like I was eating on auto-pilot but unfortunately, in the wrong direction! Has this happened to any of you and if so, how did you break this habit?

Was also wondering if any of you use the Ronco Rotisserie and if it helped with time-management and meal planning.

Thanks in advance for your much-appreciated advice!

Hey Deb I have been on WW points on and off so many times I should get an award. I know the program inside and out and I know its the healthiest one around, but........I have had my share of failure. I wish I could give you some magic words but I am still looking for them myself. My advise is to just take the points value for that second quesadilla put in your journal. If it put you over then put it into your flex points and move on. I am struggling with the same monster as you, old habits. I have been thinking of having my mouth sewn shut, its fustrating. About the Rotissere, I do not have one, nor do I know of anyone who does. But the commercials make them look yummy and easy to do. I have no room in my kitchen for another appliance or gadget. If you do buy it, let me know what you think. Hang in there and do not give up. You can email me if you want, I can always use another WW buddy, dmm11730@yahoo.com.

It is a difficult habit to break, I agree! In the beginning, I had to eat very SLOWLY to get full with 1 serving. After awhile, your body gets used to the 1 serving & 2 would be too much. I read an interesting article about slow eaters - their body fat % is lower than people who eat fast. My main problem is not enough time, so I REALLY have to work on this constantly.

I tried WW, but I have so little time to calculate points during the day (& got tired of lugging points value books around). It worked when I DID do it, though.

The rotisserie sounds neat - I don't have one myself.

Good luck, Deb!

I do not do well with the food part of fitness so I don't have anything really to add here.I find I eat mindlessly way too often.I do find writing down what I eat even just for a few days helps me be more mindful. No experience with the rotisserie, though I remember a friend ordered one and sent it back.Thought it was too big or something.

Good luck with your WW!You'll get into the habit and do great!

I'm not very adventurous when it comes to cooking and luckily DH is not too demanding.

I do Weight Watchers 'off and on' and find that when I am counting points I can do really well.
