Mucho Monday Updates....

How's everyone doing?

I got in a (brief) walk on the dreadmill. Hate that thing. Did abs and chest. Sore already. Love that.

Is it just me, or is it INSANE that we clean for the Cleaning Ladies???? They were supposed to be here at 11:00 (and still aren't), and I was running around trying to clean up and sweep up...

Finally getting a minute to sit down and enjoy my Special K with fresh sliced strawberries. Yum.

So, yesterday my DD says, "mom...how much weight have you lost...you're jeans are sagging in the butt". My first thought was it was actually my butt sagging in my jeans, but she was right. This morning I stepped on the scale...8 pounds down. How in the heck did that happen? And my tight jeans are now my comfy jeans. Surely it is a sign that something bad is about to happen! Decided to just accept it as the gift (or miracle) it is and go with it.

I'm behind in my water intake already...need to grab and a bottle and catch up.

Later, ladies! Have a great day!

Sassy

Margie, I can *totally* relate to your post! My eating has been very good the last few weeks, but as far as physical fitness. I have done next to nothing. Okay, did a bit of yard work, and the odd walk, but not enough. I just procrastinate and put it off. I almost did the same thing this morning, but then I gave my head a shake and got off my butt. I have to tell you, I wasn't thrilled the first five minutes on the Stairmaster, but I fell great now and got *way* more in than I'd expected to!!!

Just *do* it!!!! I know you can!

Thanks for the encouragement Sassy. I'm really determined this time. My sister's doing really well at following through on her diet and fitness and I want to do it with her. Maybe I'll be able to help her stick with it too! We are presently comparing Fitday journals!

I've had a great morning fitness wise today. 20 Minutes on the Stairmaster and if what they say is true (you sweat faster when you are in good shape), then I'm not in as bad a shape as I thought, because I was dripping by the first 5 minutes!! Had a bit of a rest, then did some UB weights. Took a water break and headed over to the school (on foot) to get ds. Did the Butt Buster hill on the way home. This thing is so steep that I make Max get out of the buggy and walk because it's all I can do to get myself up there without pushing an extra 50lbs. And, we need to stop and catch our breathe at the top.

Had a spinach and cheddar omelette with V-8 juice for breaky. Lunch will be spinach with bean salad and cottage cheese, an apple for dessert. I'm working on my second litre of water.

Feels great to be pro-active again!

Shar

Hey I want saggin jeans!!!Great job , Sassy!

Manic Monday is right!I had to be in CL at 6 sharp today. Service guy was coming at 7 to do some work.I worked with him and DH til after 9. Then I had to rush in to get cleaned up because I was meeting a friend and I had an hour drive to get to her.I was cleaned up and out the door before 10. Halfway thru my hour trip she calls to say she will be a half hour late. What's a girl to do???I went to Kohls and got me a new pair of running shoes :)I was starving by the time we got to Chili's for lunch.Where by the way we had a pretty cute waiter.Even better he was really nice.I , of course, got the chips before lunch.During lunch he offered to take what was left to get them out of the way!!!!My friend said sure that was fine but I must have looked stricken. He laughed and said maybe he would just leave them there.A cute guy who leaves your chips alone, as it should be.

Came home and started checking the board right away.I had to go back and reread why Kat was nude!!!!And , Sassy, cleaning for the cleaning lady???Even I don't do that. Of course I am the cleaning lady.

Not sure about a workout today. Hopefully, maybe ,possibly my weights later on.I was on my second bowl of "calcium" yesterday when I remembered my plan to lose five.Paniced til I remembered all the studies on calcium helping you to lose weight, thank goodness!

Going to go catch up on the rest of the posts.Heaven knows what all this bunch is up to!!!

Thanks, Shar. You've done really well with the SBD & personally, I don't consider it a plateau until it's been over a month on dropping pounds. Why, you just lost some last week!

Yes, that cardio will shake the scale up! I'm going to get some good cardio in tomorrow myself. My boot camp has me resting for 2 days per week, but I'm thinking Wed. I will do more cardio and just rest on Friday.

Thanks, Sassy. Now I've seen pictures of you in jeans and you do not have thunder thighs - I do, but you don't! Notice I post pictures of me in dresses.

That Caribbean salad had grilled chicken, lots of green leafy stuff, fresh cilantro (hot!), pineapple bits, mandarin orange slices (? don't understand why mandarin), baked tortilla strips and the dressing was a honey lime. It was quite yummy.

Your workouts are never sad.

Thanks for the encouragement, Phyllis. Now if I recall, you have lost all the weight you wanted to lose & didn't (as I did) gain any during the holidays.

Your flowers sound pretty. I'll have to try those orange peppers.

Kat and Sassy, Congratulations on the weight loss! I've always had "developed" thighs too. ;-)

Those little plum tomatoes are good dipped in hummus instead of using crackers. My younger sister taught me that recently.

I use the orange, yellow, red, and green peppers cut up as part of my roasted veggies recipe for the SBD (also, add asparagus, onions, garlic, zuchini, yellow squash, and sometimes mushrooms all with salt and pepper in olive oil. The mix varies from time-to-time).

I can relate, too, Margie. I've sometimes used my jobs and my responsibilities to Danny as excuses for the stress and my bad reaction to it, i.e. no workouts and bad eating. Is dd still going to the gym with you and are you still taking the water aerobics? If dd goes with you, you will be spending quality time with family AND giving yourself the gift of health.

I want to try out the stationary bike (but not that spinning class!!!! That just about killed me!!!) and/or elliptical now that I'm back at the gym for the summer. Didn't you post that you like the bike? Maybe trying something new might help? I get bored sometimes and need something to motivate me into going to work out. Sometimes, just getting outside on their little walking course helps me. The fresh air is invigorating & I get a good walking workout with nature.

Hope you feel better soon and please post with us as much as you can.

Hugs,

Kat

Thanks, Rhonda. I don't see much on those thighs of yours in your pix, either!! Geez, I'd hate for you all to see me in shorts if you think you have "developed" thighs! Now, that's not the real reason I'm unable to make the FOF trip in October, although if I did I might have to take drastic measures for these gams.
