better? Did the doctors in ER know what caused the vomiting and pain? I imagine she has to always be aware of what she eats.

Hope she is feeling better today.

Hi Kat. That's sweet of you to ask. I spoke with her last night. They did an X-Ray and there seems to be a bowel obstruction, but they can't do an MRI because she isn't able to take anything orally at the moment. They have her hooked up to intravenous and are giving her a steroid to see if it will bring the inflammation down. If it doesn't work by today or tomorrow, her specialist will be talking to the surgeon to see what the next step they take is. She called this morning while I was in the shower to say that they had moved her up to a room , so at least she has some privacy and it's quieter. Plus at the hospital she can get the pain meds she needs. Motrin and regular Tylenol just don't cut it when she's having an episode. While surgery is a drastic solution, I think it is preferrable to the pain she is in most of the time. Unfortunately, if they have to remove another part of her intestine, it may also cause other problems. For instance, she has to go for a B12 shot every month now because when they did the first surgery, they had to remove most of the section that absorbs B12 from food.

So, hopefully I'll know more when I go in to see her this afternoon. Her name is Jen. Please keep her in your prayers.

Will certainly keep Jen in my prayers that she gets better, Shar. I hate it that she's in such pain and having to go through all of this.

Hugs,

Kat

I went to see Jen today and she said she is doing better. Things have started moving again, so to speak. So, we are really hoping that this is a turning point and surgery won't be necessary. She thinks they may let her out by Sunday, but we'll have to wait and see. Thanks for all your prayers and good thoughts ladies.
