Treated myself to a Mother's Day

Shopping Spree. Men wandering through the house this morning taking out the old windows and putting in the new. What a difference...just love the new front window we decided on. Anyway, DD and I took off. I really only intended to look but got caught up in the buy one get another 1/2 off, and buy 1 pair of earrings and get another free. Ended up with 2 new pairs of capris, one olive and one black, 2 new striped shirts-one pink and bright orange and the other in a pink, olive stripe, 2 new tank tops and 3 new pair of earrings in some very unusal shapes.I will say I was tempted by a pair of bright orange capris until I tried them on and I looked like a giant pumpkin. Then I was just forced to look for some new shoes to go with the new pants and got the cutest pair of open back shoes with pointy toes-sort of a ballet slipper look and a new pair of grey and pink Saucony sneakers to wear out and about. We stopped for a bite to eat and then ended up in Bath and Body Works where they had all kinds of cute purses filled with different body lotions and sprays. Just couldn't pass that up and ended up with a cute off white bag filled with Peony scented products and just couldn't resist the tote bag for $5.00. Spent probably more than I should have, but it's not all that often that I indulge myself and I did have a nice day out with DD. Made some delicious steak kabobs on the bbq with some awesome zucchini and mushrooms that are wrapped in aluminum foil and cooked right on the bbq with the kabobs. The house is a disaster, the laundry is piled to the sky and I will admit I did suffer a fleeting moment of caring about it...but think I enjoyed my day out more.

Good for you, Susie Q!!! I'm so glad you enjoyed time off from your job and the everyday things that you always do. I'm sure your home doesn't look nearly as bad as mine!

Great sounding shopping spree and it's always a holiday when you're shopping with your dd!
