OK, everybody, what did you end up doing today?

Tim and Rob went over to visit with Dad while the girls went out to eat. One of Dad's brothers (my favorite uncle) also came over while we were gone. Before we left for the restaurant, I talked to the painters and told them I'd like them to add a little of the light gray on a trim piece across Mom and Dad's porch. Right now there's too much

You're very welcome!

Your day sounds great! We had a wonderful time at the cookout. Well the sisters did.Sometimes I think the men just indulge us.My older sister had the car pulled up close to where we were grilling and had songs going on her cd player. That was different for us.My twin wore flip flops which are very different for her.I'm this close to getting a toe ring on her!LOL I was thinking today how we are so different but yet those differences no longer bother us.We have gotten so close and I know it really makes my parents happy, especially my Dad.We headed over later to see MIL.That was a quieter visit but very nice.

Still haven't gotten my hammock up yet.

No workout in today. Need to do better next week!

Your day sounded so fun, Rhonda! Maybe you can post a picture of your Mother's Day out.

I had a good day fishing & shopping. I also (am embarrassed to say) went to see "Hidalgo" again at the matinee. I know, a grown woman who sees movies more than once!!! I also ate too much after I told myself I wouldn't. Oh well, back to the drawing board!

Now I'm getting ready to watch "The Last Samurai" and "Calendar Girls".

We watch movies more than once too. The other night we watched "Seabiscuit" again. It was so good. Rob hadn't seen it, but really liked it even though he said it was very different from the kind he usually sees. He thought "The Last Samurai" was one of the best movies he's ever seen, but it was very violent. I'd watch "Calendar Girls" again.

You've been doing so well lately that eating a little not on your plan just once shouldn't hurt. Glad you had a good Mother's Day.

Sounds as though you had a really good day too. Isn't it great that our sisters (and brothers and other family members) become more and more special as we get older? I really cherish that too.

Maybe you could slip a toe ring on your sister in her sleep. ;-) Once she sees that her toe didn't rot and fall off, she might even keep it on. LOL!

LOL! I think I must be getting old. I'm finding this thread about family etc. quite interesting. Pattycakes your post about your sister and the toe ring cracks me up. I'm the one in our family that wears the toe ring, but my sister is the one that's over the top when it comes to clothes. She wears wild, wild stuff. Leopard prints, metallic shoes, Yikes! Sometimes, I find it hard to believe we are from the same gene pool!! :) I truly don't think she owns a pair of athletic shoes, although that may have changed now that she has joined Curves. But, it really doesn't matter, because she has a heart of gold!

I said to dh today that it touched my heart to see so many families out doing things together. A shame that it takes afew days a year for some to realize how much they really have.

Then, to top it off in the middle of typing this my ds called, just to let me know that they had landed safe and sound in Boston and were staying at the Merriot on the 15th floor with a beautiful view of the city!! I'm very content tonight knowing all my children are safe and sound.

Patty, I think those cookouts with the tunes playing are the best!

Gonna snuggle up with my man and enjoy the evening.

I do not have to time to read all the posts this morning but I will later after work. My mothers day was nice. We were supposed to go racing but at 5 when we got up it was pouring rain. Bill usually has us go anyway but he was just exhusted. He gave me the lets go back to bed sign and that is all it took. We slept until 9. I made pancakes and they cleaned up. Bill watched some TV and took a nap, and I did little things upstairs and took a shower. His mom and dad came over around 4 and we cooked a steak on the BBQ and nice veggies and baked potatoes. Turned out to be very relaxing. Even sat out on our front porch and watched the neighborhood kids playing. It was also my wedding anniversary yesterday, 23 years. So combined it was a nice family day.

The day was OK. I really enjoyed my Saturday out a lot more than Mother's Day itself. A certain male member of the household was in a very unpleasant mood and really cast a shadow over the day. We had a pleasant visit with MIL and SIL and we enjoyed a short visit with one of the grandnephews-Jack. He's just so cute, all smiley and laughing all the time. After we got home I did get to enjoy a mind clearing enjoyable walk with my favorite beast.
