Hey, Deb!!! Happy Mother's Day to you, too! I bet Cat is lonesome for his mommy! I looked for you on Beale St. cam. Looks like New Orleans, in a way. I've never been to Memphis. We stayed at the Sheraton in downtown New Orleans. That was long ago, & it was ok.

Hope you continue to have a good time on your trip.

Sounds like you are having a great time. And got to love those upgrades. Is this trip business or pleasure? Either way it sounds like you are enjoying yourseld. We are heading to Nashville with the kids this summer for a big race in July. Bristol is our destination. Well have fun, stay out of trouble, and take lots of pictues.

Beale street was wild--I didn't expect such lively activities!

Ooooooh yeah, the Big Easy is my second favorite town in U.S. for cuisine!!! San Francisco is my #1! It's funny, Deb, but when you posted about most everything being fried, I laughed. That's the way I felt when I moved out here & to this day, I can't stomach alot of the foods that people eat out here in E. TX. I prefer things broiled or baked (or at least sauteed). I hate chicken fried steak and fried catfish (rather have blackened catfish) is ok, but I can live without it! Now New Orleans has some great Creole and Cajun cuisine, which I adore!!! I love spicy foods!! I'm thinking etoufees, gumbos, red beans & rice, all kinds of yummy seafood dishes, New Orleans coffee, beignets, etc. etc.

Deb, darlin', fasten your seatbelt - there will be alot more than fried foods to choose from in Nawlins'!! Your vacation sounds so wonderful!!! Yes, do all of the walking tours you are able - there's the Garden District tour, French Quarter tour, and there are quite a few plantations nearby to tour to name several.

I remember touring Vicksburg and Shiloh - all of that history!!

Hey JazzerDeb!

Love the updated website and new photos of the new skinny you – I’m envious! Isn’t Tennessee beautiful? That’s where dh & I evacuated to (from NC) last September when we had a hurricane scare. Had already been through major earthquakes and wasn’t willing to see what hurricanes do. Luckily, the only damage was a 30ft fallen tree. Anyway, am sure you are having a great time and looking forward to reading your travel diaries.

You've got to get to the French Quarter and get some chicory coffee and beignets.
