Here we go again -- it's Monday! How are you starting off your week? What do you have planned for activities, eating, water consumption, etc.? Any 15 minute projects today? If you're behind on The Power of the Praying Woman (as I am), are you planning to catch up?
Make the most of your day everyone!

Yeah - I know how hard it is (believe me!) to find decent healthy food when travelling. You basically have to make do with what you can get when you can and try to keep the rest down to moderate levels... At least I've got Alex trained to not try and foist fried foods on me. He's gotten the clue that I don't particularly *like* fried foods, so he'll offer me a taste of his sometimes but not recommend fried stuff at me anymore.
Good luck on finding good stuph and have a great time with your hiking etc!
To all you moms and grandmoms - Hope you all had the Mother's Day you so richly deserve!
We had a very hectic, but fun, weekend. We did get out Saturday to look at floor tile, but it was later than I wanted to go out and I was fretting about getting on the road to make it to the recital on time. I really don't remember any of the tile we looked at - I didn't concentrate enough for any of them to wow me. We'll definitely need to go out again a couple of times - maybe a weeknight after an easy work day will be better.
The recital Saturday was wonderful. The director of the dance school and her staff did an outstanding job putting it together. I'm so proud of my niece I could burst. She has tremendous poise and beautiful carriage. She didn't miss a step, had beautiful arm position, and did a terrific job. Her group of 8 kids tapped to "Put On A Happy Face" - costumed in golden shiny flapper-style outfits with a feathered headpiece - and did a ballet called "Ballet Bouquet" combined with the other class of the same age group (16 kids in all) to a tune that sounded like something that would have been played in the old episodes of "Wings". Very light and pretty and feminine sounding. Their costumes were lavender/pink tutus with floral headpieces. Really pretty with all of them up there. She spotted Uncle Peter in the audience immediately at the beginning of the first number, burst into a smile, gave a little wave to all of us, and didn't stop smiling until we were back home and she'd had it with costumes, perfect hair, and makeup and just wanted to be her little tom-boy self again.
We couldn't take any pictures during the recital, and it was too cold to hang around outside after the show and have the kids pose clad only in their costumes. My sister did get a couple of shots of her at home in her tap costume before they left, so I'll be getting copies. We purchased a DVD of the entire recital, so we can watch it again. "A Star Is Born"!
Mother's Day was rainy and cold early on, but the weather improved. My mom decided she wanted to take the train out. She beat the rain by about 10 steps. We treated ourselves to Dunkin' Donuts (lemon) and coffee for a late breakfast. We had a nice dinner (roast pork, green beans, sweet potatoes) and good conversation, we showed off the house plans and the cabinetry I like, and headed to my ILs' apartment for dessert late in the afternoon. And I ate dessert even after having a donut earlier. Took the Scarlett O'Hara attitude - "tomorrow's another day."
And today will be cardio and long LB work and abs. And good eating. And healthy snacks. And....you get the picture - back on the straight and narrow.
Patty, my MIL gave me some back issues of Biography magazine to read. One from November 2003 has the most awesome picture of George Clooney on the cover, it'll take your breath away. Look for e-mail - I'm scanning and sending it to you. Pant, pant, pant.....
Rhonda, your mother and father's house is going to look as gorgeous as yours in no time with the work you and your sister have done. Wanna come visit? Bring your shovel. How's your dad feeling?
Have a wonderful day, everyone. Gotta do some FOF board reading....

Week two of the walk it off challenge for me.
I think it's going to be a busy week for me. I've got to get things together for Adam's party and it looks like dd won't be getting out of the hospital for a bit, so I'll be running back and forth.
I'm just going to work on getting my exercise in everyday and eating well.
Shar
Good Morning Ladies,
Just finished reading the posts and I'm amazed at how busy all of you are!
You Were Born An Original... Don't Die A Copy
Well, this morning I interviewed for a volunteer position working at a nearby hospital, in the administration department. I’ll be reading and studying three chapters; integumentary, skeletal, and muscle systems. Did my WW online weigh-in and just glad I didn’t gain since I’m sure that I went over my points more than once. Planning to do an elliptical and (maybe) a spin workout this afternoon. I, for one am getting back on the wagon this week. Anyone else with me?
You all have a great day and I’ll check back later.

Enjoyed reading your Monday posts today...so much going on with all of you.
Rhonda...you are a sweet daughter to help your parents out like that. Didn't realize you were getting your house painted, but it is always nice to something to spruce things up.
Patty...so sorry about your hormone h*ll with the headaches to go along with it. Hope you are doing better. Hope your weeks turns out as sunny as the weather.
Lori...your Yoga sounds really informative. Much more than what you get at a gym where you more or less go through the motions. How great to be able to put to use in everyday life what you are learning. I noticed on FitTV that the yoga participants don't necessarily have the perfect body, but they are limber and at peace with themselves.
Phyllis...you are not rambling at all. Sometimes your thoughts are others thought, like yours were to me today. I sometimes feel I have too many quiet days too...but they can turn "manic" at a minutes notice.
Susan...too bad about those windows, but I do know what you mean about not getting things done right the first time. Very aggravating. Good for you for getting you workout done this morning again before work. Try not to stress about the things that have to be done when you get home. Glad you were able to leave it all this weekend and enjoy some relaxation.
Linda...sorry about your restless night, but at least your head is draining and you will hopefully start feeling better. Those nit picky things can be a lot on your mind and it does feel good to get them done too.
Deb...the food when traveling can be hard to "digest" especially when you are used to eating healthy. I am spoiled with all the good food readily available here in Long Island. Enjoy the rest of your car/hiking trip.
Kat...You had some good insights too on your priorities. I agree, the house is can wait after family and health. Just remember...no one ever had put on their tombstone..."She kept a beautiful house". LOL!
Anna...a new bike and a new flat screen monitor. Sounds like you had a nice weekend biking around Italy. I love my new flat screen monitor...it is so much clearer for these old eyes. It is actually smaller than the old monitor...it was 19" and too close to my face with the way it stuck out. Hope you get used to it. Good analogy on how it feels until you get used to it.
Donna...busy busy weekend for you. Glad you enjoyed neices recital...always great to see the kids up there on stage. I find it overwhelming to pick things for the house...too many choices...too many styles to choose from. Good luck! I am sure you will find the perfect one after taking your time and digesting it all.
Shar...good plan...exercise and eating well. Good luck with the challenge. Prayers that DD gets out of the hospital soon and feels better.
Margie...you had some busy weekend too. The days and weeks just seem to be going faster and faster all the time. What is up with that? Glad you had a nice Mother's Day and the kids are getting settled and with equity.
CatalinaDeb...Good for you being back on the wagon and not gaining at your WW weigh in. How are you liking WW online? Good luck with the interview...hope it is what you want.
Well...that is it for now. Have a good one all!

Tomorrow I need to wake up super early & get to the fitness club to run (ankle willing) and/or try the stationary bike. I'm sore all over (have to admit to adding some Kathy Smith abs & weight to lose weight video) and that's a good thing! I think that Wed. I will powerwalk at the fitness center in the p.m. Gotta' wear those new hot pink running shorts and workout top!
Hope you all are having a great one!
What a great Mother's Day present you got, Kat...I should have thought of it. I hope the McD's have those meals here soon too. Maybe it is a nationwide launch.
