with each child my housekeeping standards went down and down. Now that they are growing up - my standard goes back up too! Starting this January, I have "moved out" of one room in the house per month and cleaned, organized, thrown away, and then moved back in. It will take me one year to get thru the whole house, then I will turn around and do it again. So I just do a little thing in that room every day. It is such an energy boost! People who move alot do have the advantage of not letting lots of dirt and dust and clutter collect over the decades. So yes, I spring clean - all year!

Patty mine likes to think he helps and I am afraid in his mind he really thinks he does, trust me here.....................NOT! I am lucky if he pulls up the sheets on his side of the bed, or if he washes some dishes after his dinner but for the most part its me. He did clean the bathroom, last Christmas before our party and I heard about it for weeks. His idea of cooking is the BBQ and if you like everything burnt, then he does a great job. I wish for one of those helping type ones too, but mine works so hard at the shop and I have been the SAHM for so many years that old habits are hard to break.

Remind me to tell you the vacume story and fight from many years ago!

I do not spring clean either, who has the extra time for that? I just try to keep up with it on a regular basis. I dislike cleaning more and more, because like Patty said it only stays looking nice for a little while. It gets discouraging. I wish I could afford someone even once a month to tackle a "special" project each time.
