You should see the other guy...

I went down to get a new saddle on my bike today. Was headed back home for lunch and got rammed by a moped coming out of a blind alley way too fast... Spent the rest of the day in the emergency room.

I'm okay - just bruises and bumps... I got xrays and ultrasounds to check my ribs and my liver cuz the darn handlebar punched me in the right side... but everything checks out fine... liver is fine - ribs are bruised but don't appear to be broken... And of course I was wearing my bike helmet - not that my head went anywhere near hitting anything but I found it reassuring to know I had it on properly, just in case...

The moped rider has a broken leg...

Anyways - I won't be riding for a few days... and I'll see when I'm up to working out again. Alex was an incredible sweetie thru the whole thing - and quite convinced that my working out helped me not get hurt worse than I was...

Geez, Anna, here I've been thinking it was just Italian CAR drivers that were crazy. I'm relieved the hear that you're safe and it's "just" bumps and bruises that you suffered. I hope you won't be too sore in a few days. Take care of yourself. Better, let Alex take good TLC of you.

Hugs,

Donna

Oh, my Anna...ouch and double ouch! You poor dear! How fortunate you weren't hurt worse. Hope you the "soreness" goes away quickly. Glad Alex was around to help you through the ER experience. Make sure he waits on you hand and foot for awhile.

You take care and don't rush working out until you are 100%. Prayers and hugs for a speedy recovery.

Oh, Anna - I'm glad your injuries were no more serious. Still, it's instinct for the muscles to tighten up, so it's good that you're taking it easy. Big ol' hugs to you.

Drivers are crazy everywhere, it seems.

Oh, man, Anna! I gasped when I read about your accident. So glad that you weren't hurt any worse than you are, but having had bruised ribs before, I know how terribly painful it can be with each breath when you have those. The fact that you're in good shape probably did help you out. The dr. said that definitely helped prevent my BIL from being killed when a 300 lb. office machine fell down some steps on top of him. He needs several major surgeries, but he's alive!

And, let THAT be a lesson to the moped rider. I don't think he'll want to tangle with you again.

Take care.

Hugs,

Rhonda

Alex's family has been so sweet. Everyone was sending hugs and kisses. The housekeeper even brought me flowers. I thought she was so sweet.

i think i'm gonna go sit in the other room for a while though, til she gets done with the chemicals in here...

So sorry to hear about your accident. Glad you were not hurt worse, and you were wearing that helmet. Was this your new bike? How did the bike do? Rest up and take it easy. I am sure more bumps and bruises will show up over the next day or so, not to mention the aches and pains.
