Katsonnet Re Fraiser

Hey Katsonnet!

I know just how you feel about “easy” VCR’s. We must have 5+ remotes for our “entertainment” center, which drives me NUTS! Can never seem to find the right one and always threaten dh that I’m throwing them all out.;^)

Anyway, re Fraiser in a nutshell:

Daphne had a boy. Went into labor at the Vet and was there because Eddie had swallowed Ronni’s wedding ring just before the ceremony started – her brothers came to visit – especially LOVE Simon LOL!

Kenny the Station Manager decided to pursue being an On-Air Talent at another station.

Roz became the Station Manager and in that excitement, Noel finally got kissed by Roz

Martin and Ronni got married by Fraiser at the Vet (they went there after Niles called and told them about Daphne)

Bebe, Fraiser’s Agent got him a job on television in San Francisco, which he accepted. All this was told in hindsight to a woman passenger on an airline sitting next to Fraiser but when they landed, the announcement was Welcome to Chicago (where Charlotte, the love of his life had moved) So, my guess is he went there to see if he could convince her to have a long-distance relationship that would lead to one of them moving to be with the other and again, my guess would be since Fraiser’s new job paid mega $$$ they would move to The Bay area.

Oh, as I’m writing this, I’m looking over at my box of Kneenex, again. Anyway, if you want more details, let me know…

I've always loved Frasier. I was disappointed by this episode, though.

Really!? Well, I guess given the history, so little time and so much to try and squeeze-in on the final episode, I thought it was pretty good but opinion at this point is mute since all there is left will be at amazon dot com alongside of boxed episodes of Friends…

I love Frasier and am going to miss this excellent cast, but I think I know what you mean, Sassy. It went on and on and a lot of it was just plain silly.

If they're going to allow 62 minute episodes, why not just make the program 40 minutes, put a pile of ads on at the start and at the end, and concentrate on the fun and important stuff of the finale? Why couldn't Martin and Ronnie just have a calm dignified wedding without all the nonsense of Daphne's brother repeatedly firing that dumb cannon or the grossness of the cattle nearby? Eddie swallowing the ring and Daphne going into labor at the vet would still have been funny and still could have been clever enough devices to get Martin and Ronnie out of that he&*-hole reception site. I liked most of the rest of the show; Daphne really didn't need 3 whacky brothers to show up - Anthony LaPaglia is more than whacky enough as Simon; I think he was one of the most hysterical characters ever on that show, but I don't know if I could have tolerated him in more frequent appearances.

I thought the goodbyes were wonderful - had my Kleenex handy for that part. I'm going to miss David Hyde Pierce a ton. I hope he does lots of theater in the Boston area; I'll try to see him.

I thought the twist of Frasier landing in Chicago was great - he's been on the short end of the deal so often in love, I really didn't expect him to pursue Catherine the way everyone in America expected Ross and Rachel to get back together.

Now three of my favorite shows are finished. Guess it's time to update my profile!

I loved that episode (or was it episodes) when the boys went off with the dad in a motor home! Hilarious! What was your favorite?

The complete farcical slapstick of the episode at the cabin (the one where Donny was still in the picture and Niles and Roz were pretending to be an item).

The one where Frasier took JoBeth Williams to an idyllic island and found Lilith in the next suite.

The one where Frasier and "Dirty Girl" got together - and the one where she left.

The ones where Roz and Bulldog were dating.

The one where Niles fenced with Maris's "lover"

The one where Nile and Daphne are trapped at his estate in the thunder storm ("your glockenspiel - it's working".)

The one when Simon first showed up.

Get the picture??

Seem 'em all! I thought the one where Patrick Stewart plays a rich, gay man who mistakes Frasier for a gay man was hysterical. I loved David Hyde Pierce, too...from day one with his reaction to Daphne...I always anticipated the looks on his face when she was around. I really liked the one when Niles had to have heart surgery. Funny but very emotionally intense, too.

I'll definitely miss it! But will be hooked on the reruns for years :)

I think I was disappointed, too, that Ronnie & Martin couldn't have a decent wedding and also that I called the ending at the beginning of the show. I know it's predictable, but I really wanted to see Frasier walk to Charlotte's door and have her open it and...fade out.

When they took to the plane scene I said to DH...he'll be landing in Chicago. Anyway, never saw a Frasier I didn't like :)
