Toot Your Own Horn Tuesday --
| Tue, 05-18-2004 - 6:18am |
Remember when Tulips (Suzanne) started this a couple of years ago? We've kind of let it slide by the wayside, but I thought it would be fun to revive it for a day. Can you think of something you did this past week that you'd like to toot your own horn about? If can be something you did for someone else, for your self, an accomplishment, or anything like that.
What's the weather like in your neck of the woods? What are your plans for today? Need a kick in the butt (here! here!) or a pat on the back? We're here!
Make it a great day!

Eating was not good earlier in the week, but if I look back on from Saturday to Saturday of last week I got a lot accomplished and managed to work in some good cardio and strength workouts. Saturday-before-last was working Kids' Day (cancer patients) at the Jacksonville Baseball Park; several days during the week was spent running errands to buy things with my sister to help spruce up my parents' house

Tooting the horn...well guess I'm another one that will have to get back to you on that. I know there's always some little thing...just can't come up with anything at the moment.
The day so far is gloomy, foggy and quite humid. We're supposed to have some sun and then heard tell of some big T-storms headed our way. Could explain why I'm feeling less than energetic and in spite of a good walk on the treadmill and some weights just still not feeling ready to rock and roll today. I'm supposed to be tutoring this evening and have to say I'm not at all prepared and have nothing planned and will have to wing it. Sometimes that works and then other times...well it just doesn't.
Well need to get the laundry in the dryer and the breakfast dishes done somehow before heading out the door to work.
Enjoy your day and hope Tuesday is a totally terrific day for you.
Susan
That is so weird that you are doing Toots because I have been thinking about Toots and Tulips, too! Can’t think of any toots to mention but will keep that in mind for next Tuesday’s Toots.
Anyway, good morning and Happy Tuesday!
Tuesday is probably my favorite day of the week because for me, it’s the day that directs the rest of the week. Monday, I’m usually groggy and trying to re-group from the weekend but Tuesday I’m energized and ready for the challenges of the week. Anyway, last night we met with a few of our neighbors to start planning a big block party and was wondering if anyone knew of a simple but fun ice-breaker type game. Maybe something played at a club event that encouraged otherwise strangers to at least introduce themselves. So if you know of something that worked, please let me know.
Today, I’ve got to study a three-chapter exam on integumentary, skeletal, and muscle systems. Later plan to do Step Aerobics and if time permits, UB weights.
Have a good day ladies!

Since I have a very short memory, I can't remember if I have anything to toot about.
It's dismal and humid here today. It's great weather to encourage a dewy complexion, however, bad hair abounds. Remember the character in the Buster Brown shoes logo? I'm looking like him today. I need to call for a haircut asap.
Cardio and LB workout tonight. Steak tips for dinner - if the rains hold off, I'll get DH to fire up the grill.
Did anyone see any of the Motown 45 special last night? I watched about 15 minutes of it before I switched channels. It was painful tv. The only good act among the oldies was Lionel Richie; he's in pretty good shape, and his voice is still strong. I had hoped to see Ashford and Simpson, but they were on later and I couldn't bear to stay tuned in.
Have a great day, everyone!

Sybil, unhand our princess!!! So sorry to hear that your guys just aren't gettin' it on top of the weather and the hormones. They should be made to stay at home with no escape to see how quickly they develop cabin fever. As for the look at the shorts, as annoying as it probably was, I'd consider it a compliment. You must be looking too good for comfort.
Hope things brighten up for you soon. The run should help somewhat.
Hugs,
Rhonda
