Toot Your Own Horn Tuesday --

Remember when Tulips (Suzanne) started this a couple of years ago? We've kind of let it slide by the wayside, but I thought it would be fun to revive it for a day. Can you think of something you did this past week that you'd like to toot your own horn about? If can be something you did for someone else, for your self, an accomplishment, or anything like that.

What's the weather like in your neck of the woods? What are your plans for today? Need a kick in the butt (here! here!) or a pat on the back? We're here!

Make it a great day!

Rhonda

Congratulations to your mom, Deb. Is she a professional artist or a very accomplished hobbyist? I'd love to see the photos of her work.

I hope your sick friend improves quickly. What a dangerous thing to contract. Sending good vibes her way.

Okay, it's 9 am here and it's already 75! It's going to be a scorcher today. They had a news report on last night and it appears that some of the smaller towns on the island are going to have to truck in drinking water come summer because the water levels are so low in their reservoirs! Frightening situation and rather ironic since we are totally surrounded by water!

Great day yesterday! I walked for 2 1/2 hours yesterday afternoon! I really do need to go and get fitted for some good walking shoes though. I broke my toe when I was 8 and it always comes back to haunt me!! Aches and throbs if my shoes are tied too tight or I wear the same pair for too long.

I remember Tootin' Tuesdays! I also seemed to remember that I couldn't come up with much! :)

Let's see, in the past week...

1. My dd called when dinner was almost ready to say that she could have solid food and would I please bring her a tunafish sandwich. She hadn't had anything solid for a week, so I made her a sandwich, stopped at the grocery store on the way and picked her up some other stuff to munch on and delivered it. I came home to cold dinner, but it was worth it!

2. I overcame my anxiety about Adam's birthday party and it was a huge success. So much so that many of the kids didn't want to go!

3. I had an awesome day walking yesterday. In a 2 1/2 hour stretch, pushing Max in the buggy (30lb), and with only a couple of short stops, I logged over 12,000 steps!

4. I planted and mulched the front and side flowerbeds on Sunday.

5. I survived a shopping trip with dh's cousin!!! LOL

Good Morning Everyone!

After reading Rhonda's "toot your own horn post" I'm sorry to report I don't have one thing to toot about this week. This week my best has been keeping my head above water rather than excelling at anything.

Well, I don't think I'll belabor the race - that's my tootin'!

But while I have y'all's eyeballs, here's a link to some random pics from race day. I'm wearing #181 on my running shorts - 4th picture on the left hand column, I ran right by the camera, as you can see!

Haven't heard from or about Tulips in AGES. Tweety still pops in from time-to-time and was on the SBD board sometimes. I miss having her around here regularly the way she was for so long.

CONGRATULATIONS to your mom on her wins at the art show!! Maybe there's still hope for me with art. I would love to see her prize winning paintings.

Wow! You have lots to toot about! So happy to hear about your daughter's progress and know that is a tremendous relief for you. I will continue to remember her in my prayers.

What an awesome day yesterday, especially if you have a toe screaming at you. I broke my right little toe in 1998, I think it was, and it does very much like what you described when I try to rollerblade or wear certain shoes. Not fun!

Keep up the good work!

Rhonda
