I was so sorry to hear that Claudea is sick. My middle one was also a baby that didn't thrive. They didn't call it that then-but she just didn't gain weight-at 3 months she was just a little more than her birth weight and there was talk of putting her in the hospital. It was a very scary time as I'm sure it is for your family. Prayers are with her.

How's your dad doing? Have they been able to stabalize his BP?

Sorry to hear that you're not feeling well. Hope you'll be feeling better-you've really been working hard.

Hugs,

Susan

Susan, thanks so much for your sweet post. Your child sounds very similar to Claudea. She's grown 5", but has gained almost no weight. They've tried all kinds of formulas and even added a little cereal recently to try to keep it down, but almost nothing works. She's been on a couple of different medicines for reflux. That's painful even for an adult, so I know it has to be very hard on her. She also cut her first two teeth at 3 months. On top of that, Andie seems to be getting her 2 year molars at 22 months. Poor Lauren!! I know she wishes she could wiggle her nose and get a break. What was the turning point for your child and about what age did it happen? Claudea's appt. at the hosp. is on the 28th. Sure wish they could have gotten it sooner.

Dad is doing OK. They added a blood pressure patch, which is much more expensive than comparable oral

Rhonda, my allergies have hit too!Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well.I was reading the part about the upset stomach and thinking Tim had that for awhile too. Is that right? Is he better? And did you ever really find out what caused it?

It's nice that you are there to help your parents so much but I know it also can take a toll on a person.Take sometime for yourself too.

With all you have going on in your life it's little wonder your dreams are goofy.

Glad to hear your dad is getting out a bit.

My DD didn't have the reflux, just terrible screaming with colic. They had tried medication for that. I had been nursing her and supplementing with formula but they felt she couldn't tolerate either. I was told that it's unusual for a child not to be able to tolerate breast milk but it could happen. They put her on a soy formula and that was finally the turning point for her. I also had a 2 year old at the time and I can fully understand how she must feel.I spent a lot of days in tears feeling like a failure and it didn't help that I didn't have any friends in the neighborhood at the time and I guess if it weren't for my inlaws being close by and DH taking over when he got home from work there were days where I pretty much thought I would lose my mind. Hope they're able to get to the root of her problem so everyone feels better soon.

That had to have been so hard! Sleep deprivation was probably a major factor too, and that affects everything. Soy formula hasn't worked for Claudea, unfortunately.

No word from Erin yet. I'm pretty sure she's having to wrestle with this one. She can fool other people who don't know the situation, but I don't think she can fool herself

So sorry to hear about baby Claudea - I will pray that she gets better and stronger. Poor little girl!

Hope you feel better soon and that your dad's blood pressure stabilizes.
