Brand-Name Or Generic

Was discussing shopping habits with a friend and was curious about what you all thought about…
When it comes to vitamins, aspirin, etc are you strictly a brand-name person, generic, or mix?
What about hair care and skin care products – salon/counter, other brand name, generic, or mix?

Hair care/skin care - Lately I've been using Matrix hair care products (salon). When I switch, I usually switch to Sassoon or Nioxin (salon). I also got small sizes of the new Bath and Body Works hair products to try when I went on a recent business trip. Like them a lot.
Facial care - I love Bath and Body Works Simplicity line (I think that's what it's called). A lotion cleanser, a couple of line reduction and prevention magic potions, and a skin balancing lotion. Really nice stuff. Seems to last, and the prices aren't as bad as what you find at cosmetic counters in the bigger department stores.
Salon stuff, The Cus is more than happy with whatever is cheapest. Me... that's where I prefer the products my stylist sells. They do well on my hair, and I can feel a difference between even the more expensive name brand ones that I've gotten in the stores.

When it comes to over-the-counter meds., cleaners or things like that, and even some foods I often buy store brands now. I've had very good luck with Publix
