Good morning, Lori!Love your thankfuls.Hope you enjoy your class tonight.
Nothing too excitng going on here today, I'm pacing myself :) It's another day of chickens and trying to finish the mowing.I'm thinking about just turning the cattle loose on the yard.
Today is DS first day of college! He's going to a community college about an hour from here.Today he has classes from 9 til 9 with a break in between.I can not believe my baby is going to college!!I am so glad one of us knows what they want to be when they growup :)
Not quite sure what my workout will be, a run probably and weights.
My Thankfuls: 1)Thankful that DS is doing so well with work and his future plans.2)A chance to talk with a friend yesterday 3)Thankful for DHs skills when it comes to fixing things in CL 4)My sisters, already talked to both today and both had me laughing, what a blessing they are 5) This group of women.Love that no matter what everyone might have going on in their own lives they always manage to take the time to be there for each other. The world could learn alot from a group like this!!!!
Hope your Thursday is filled with reasons to be thankful.
The sun has come back the humidity is gone and it's a beautiful day outside. My workout clothes were all laid out and ready to go unfortunately I wasn't. But I will get out after work with the dog and will do some stretching or yoga this evening.
Absolutely nothing new and exciting here. Hi Ho it's off to work I go in a little while. I'll be trying to get the kitchen in order before I leave and get the dirty dishes clean.
Thankfuls:
1. For this beautiful day. I love sleeping with the windows open and hearing the birds singing in the morning and the extra light in the evening.
2. My children and my relationship with them and knowing that they are comfortable coming to me with their crisis, cares and concerns and although we may not agree that they know that judgment will not be passed only my opinion.
3. The wonderful women here.
Hope your Thursday is Terrific and full of wonderful things.
Thankfuls: Thankful for my Mom's visit and how wonderful it was. Thankful she got home alright, despite the first leg of her return being delayed, missing her connecting flights, and having to sit at Houston airport for 11 hours.... Thankful for health. Thankful for the freedom to worship and for the beliefs of many of our founding fathers and great leaders. Thankful for the friends I have online.
Al's going over to a friend's house this morning, so I'll get a run in - thinking 3-4 miles, no Hill. My legs are still a little tight from yesterday's great workout. It'll already be a little warm by the time I do it. Might work UB again, plus abs. Other than that? I might rustle up the desire to do some housework. Chicken Shake-n-Bake tonight, I think, which reminds me I need to take the chicken out of the freezer.
Got an hour workout done this morning via Kathy Smith Great Buns and Thighs Step, which certainly encourages at least 8 glasses of water. Am hoping to get in some weights this afternoon. Going to be HOT and Humid today! Last night saw some pretty wicked-looking lightning bolts and had a downpour for maybe 3 min – was hoping for more since we don’t have sprinkles. My roses seem to be strong enough to withhold all kinds of weather while my recent variety purchase died off rather quickly.
THANKFUL: For UPS Guy/Gal delivering all my online orders here and across the country to family & friends. Previously recorded favorite shows that are no longer on t.v.. DEET in Deep Woods Off and Cook-It-Quick type of cookbooks, and for any rain that cools off the heat and humidity.
Anyway, I think I hear a nice strong cup of English Breakfast Tea calling my name. You all have a great day.
Thankfuls: For steady-as-she-goes health, work, and home life. For feeling comfortable with things as they are on all levels. For the opportunity for improvement, and for the knowledge that it's there if I want to seize on it. And for strawberries and asparagus.
A nice spring day is in store today. This is the kind of weather I want it to be all year - with maybe a 10-degree swing both ways to indicate changes of seasons. Nothing too extreme.
I tried Kashi Go Lean cereal today. It's pretty tasty, and not so differently priced from the Post/Kellogg/General Mills brands. It'll be a nice break from Cheerios and McCanns, and those ubiquitous eggs, in the morning.
Dinner tonight is either grilled boneless salmon steaks or grilled lamb chops. Both are in the fridge awaiting the deep freeze from shopping last night. Do any of you go to the store just to get "a few things" and walk out nearly $100 bucks poorer? I hate that. There was nothing junky or unnecessary in the cart, and no cleaning or paper products. Good food ain't cheap!
Workout tonight is cardio, maybe a walk outdoors, and abs. Preliminary plans for the weekend include Saturday, weather permitting, heading to Cape Cod for the day before the summer crowds come out for real over Memorial Day weekend to open up their second homes. Lucky dogs.
Deb, those unfried spring rolls are super easy to make. The most time consuming part is chopping up the ingredients. I've got the rice wrappers here (they are dry and you just soak them in warm water for a few seconds to soften them) and I don't make them nearly as often as I should! I'll post you a recipe that I have later.
It's a beautiful morning here, but I'm having trouble getting going. Not sure why... I know I stayed up too late last night to see Laura Bush on Jay Leno's show and Incubus on David Letterman, then couldn't sleep, so I got on the trusty computer to play Free Cell.
