Ready for Saturday check in...!

How strange to be checking in when it's only a little past high noon. I got my run in today, right at 4 miles, walking up the hill. I pushed a little too hard the first 1-1/2 miles and wore myself out enough to where I just couldn't even begin to run up it. Besides, it was already 77 degrees outside, and humid.

We're running the sprinklers in the front lawn as I type. Washed the car, looks great. Had our "dinner" for lunch, chicken quesadillas with Southwestern hominy as a side. The hominy, a new recipe, didn't go over that well, though I think I could use the same ingredients substituting rice for the hominy and have a great Spanish rice kind of recipe. I'm craving ice cream - must add to grocery list. Do you think that's indicative of too little calcium in my diet? LOL!

Seems weird to have our dinner out of the way, my workout done, and the day's hardly halfway through. Guess that means more "Me" time, eh?

It was 94 here today, including the whole 3 hours that I worked in Mom and Dad's yard. Luckily, there was a good sea breeze this afternoon, so it wasn't stifling.

I went to Mom's luncheon today. She and my younger sister were late. Turns out Mom had gone into atril fibrillation (sp.?) and had to take extra heart medicine and drink a couple of glasses of Gatorade. She probably shouldn't have even come and wasn't up to driving herself. Lisa went to her house and brought her, and they were a little late getting there. The speaker was a political science professor at Jacksonville University who spoke on our Love/Hate Relationship with the UN. It was very interesting. A couple of people asked if my sister and I were twins. She probably didn't appreciate it because she's 5 1/2 years younger, but I was loving it. See what clean living can do for you!! ;-)

The lunch was good too. We had a type of baked chicken with a light cream sauce, mixed steamed veggies, mashed potatoes, rolls, a tomato slice baked with parmesan and other seasoning, and a slice of a custard pie with raspberries on it.

I took Mom home and worked 3 hours straight in their yard after I changed clothes. Got the two large bushes planted, which required cutting through more magnolia roots, spread oak leaf mulch, watered a lot, raked the whole front yard, and got that all bagged. I was a dirty mess when I finished. I'm hoping I worked off some of that pie I had for lunch. Even though I was a mess, I stopped by Walmart and the grocery store on the way home.

Tim went in to the office late today and probably won't be home until close to 10 and Rob is staying with a friend down at their beach condo (It's a rough life!), so I'm here alone. I'd wanted to work on the shrubs here some, but I barely made it home before I was sick to my stomach again -- 7th day in a row. I'm thinking I need to cut out the wheat and see if it makes a difference again. I may run out and do a couple of the bushes before it gets totally dark.

Hope everyone's day went well.

Rhonda
