~~Magical Monday Morning~~
| Mon, 05-24-2004 - 6:42am |
Good morning everyone!Ok, after dealing with dressing room mirrors and a zipper that didn't want to go up this weekend,I am ready to get it in gear.I sat down this morning and made a workout plan and wrote out ideas for healthy meals. Most definitely time to look at my diet.I'm thinking about the women on the board as I do it.Donna came to mind because of the awesome job she has done with her weight the past few months.I know she has made changes to her diet and seen great results.I keep thinking that she "just did it". She didn't just think about it or talk about it, she did it.I think about Shar and the changes she has made and the results she has seen.I think about Kat who works incredible hours and still gets her fitness in.I think about Deb who works her tail off to stay fit and how she has fun doing it.Lori is dealing with health issues and still finding ways to get a workout in.As are others.I think about those of you who do it before work, after work, whenever you can get it in.So I'm inspired by all of you to get with it.Maybe we can each take this week to look at our goals and motivate and support each other.Let's have some fun while we do it too.
So it's Monday, where do you want to be come Friday? With a week of good fitness behind you?A week of eating well and making small changes that pay off?Maybe it doesn't have anything to do with fitness.Maybe you have work goals you want to reach. Maybe you want to find time for yourself this week.Whatever your goal , set it and work towards it.On Friday we'll all celebrate our success.
Hope the weather is ok for eveyone, so many storms everywhere.Hot and streamy here.
Anyone have a 15 min project today?Anyone have a tough job they will be glad to get done?
Hope you each have something Magical happen today!!!!Enjoy your day!

Today, I've got a killer To-Do list started which will take me a few days to go through. Lot of it just small stuff, but stuff I've forgotten to do because they've not gotten written down! Gotta get Dan's b'day presents bought/ordered, make a haircut appt. for Allison, get her signed up for the summer reading program and story time at the library, do a new America t-shirt for her (she outgrew her old one), get some 10# weights, see what work The Cus's and my bicycles need, call some friends, etc. etc. etc. I'll make time to work out, because I'm thinking tomorrow will be my rest day, though I'm not sure if I'll do cardio go running tonight when The Cus gets home. I'm leaning towards cardio.
Totally OT, I shared this below in a reply to Deb's/dmm's post, but y'all have got to see this. I went shopping this weekend, and here's one of the shirts I bought at Steinmart - a sleeveless, light-gauge sweater with sequined flip flops on it. The pic doesn't quite do it justice since I got this one online and had to do some color adjustment. I also bought a linen pants outfit, aqua with embroidered sunglasses, flip flops, beach balls and beach bags on it. I can wear the flip flop tank with it, or the bright pink ss silk knit top I also bought there. I just fell in love with the flip-flop shirt, though - truly an impulse buy!

Not sure about anything magical around here this morning. Sybil is out full strength and DH who apparently is also suffering from the Sybil complex this morning-better watch out. I tossed and turned all night and I would fall back asleep and have these very bizarre and vivid dreams especially about my deceased FIL-very eerie. I'm going back to work this morning with nothing really accomplished. I really hate that feeling. I also went short shopping yesterday-BIG mistake. Apparently everything is either super short or else they're the right length but cut so low they look ridiculous. Then I did the stupidest thing of all and stepped on the scale this morning. You should never do that when Sybil is in town!
Anyway, now that I've vented a bit. I did get in a 30 minute workout tape. I need to curb my desires of the past few days of things containing sugar and maybe Sybil will go away.
If you could find some magic to send this way to send her packing please feel free.
I hope the day does bring good things your way.

How much rain can the sky hold? That's a serious question. It's getting on my last nerve. And we've had it easy.
Lori, in the midst of network problems here at work, I saw your post about the town of Hallam. Hoping those poor people get some relief, and that there aren't any more tragedies in store for them. We had a heck of a storm here last night - lots of thunder and lightening, but nowhere near what you describe. We have no idea what it's like to live with the threat of a mere rainstorm turning into something so deadly. Even our blizzards seem like inconveniences compared to that.
LI Deb, if the job wasn't meant to be, then it wasn't meant to be. Sounds like it wasn't going to fit you. You won't miss it; that boss lost someone who could have made a difference, but obviously, it's not important to him.
Patty, thanks for the wonderful comments. You'll be pleased to know that you've guilted me into working out hard this evening. If anyone were to ask me what animal I most resemble right now, I'd have to answer a sloth. I did nothing - nada, zip, nichts, null - in the way of exercise, housework, shopping, etc., over the last three days. OK, I walked a mile from the train to the Pampered Chef party site Friday. And I flipped a duster over the furniture Sunday morning. But other than that, sloth as far as the eye can see. I'm in one of my I-don't-want-to-exercise-and-I-don't-care moods. I'll snap out of it soon; it seems like the timing is about right for one to hit. AF (or something like her) is lurking, so I wonder if that's part of it. Still eating fairly well - despite the tiramisu for dinner Saturday night. At least it all hasn't gone to pot.
Hope you all have a great day!
Donna
Well Patty after my dinner of halibut fish and chips and a martini to boot, then followed up with a LARGE Blizzard (we didn't eat a real meal until too late yesterday)...I'm ready for whatever you're proposing this week.
I've actually been veery very good today. in spite of receiving a letter in the mail from a lawyer about the bike accident. Apparently the woman riding the moped is considering suing for damages. It kind ticks me off - it was a gorgeous bright sunny but cool morning. I got up early and was well on my way to getting everything done. Feeling productive and motivated. Then the darn letter came and I spent a couple hours being pretty down. Alex spent quite a bit of time reassuring me and trying to cheer me up. Finally, I told him to stop trying and just go back to work or I'd feel guilty about keeping him from getting his work done - on top of being upset about the potential legal fiasco.
(Alex assures me that this is *probably* just to keep me - the American - from suing her first. So we're seeing the lawyer tomorrow to see if he can help us settle it out of court. Explain that I have no assets and, riding a bike, I was uninsured, so it would be silly to waste her time suing me... I hope he's right.)
So, I did get the last chapter of my tech review done while sitting out in the garden with Alex. Now I've gotta upload it and then I'll try to get a light workout in...
Dinner is pasta with tuna sauce, then perch fillets and rucola.
Dh was supposed to go in the Victoria Day Parade today (Lion Dancing), but he has lower back issues and woke up with a sore back. So opted out of trekking the 3 mile parade route with a 30 - 40 lb. lion's head on his shoulders!
Instead, he decided it was a good day to clean the windows outside! Far be it from me to discourage him. I think it is his way of apologizing for accidentally getting some Killex on my garden patch and killing off some of the lettuce (after I told him it was too windy)!! Now I have to pull it and re-seed. Or, it could be the fact that the windows are just plain old dirty!! LOL
I'm hoping we can hit the beach again today. Yesterday was wonderful. The temp was in the mid 70's with just a slight breeze. An absolutely perfect afternoon. We had hot dogs and (gasp) french fries for lunch. And dh and I got some good reading time in while the kids fiddled around in the sand and surf. The only downer was when the top came off my suntan oil and dowsed my knapsack. I washed it out right away, so hopefully it worked.
I'd like to get a nice long walk in today sometime. It's Monday, so I'm going to really knuckle down with my eating again this week. I actually got an UB workout in before dinner yesterday. Boy did it feel good. Dh took the kids to the Kung Fu club, so I had the house to myself.
Stepped on the scale this morning. All the extra poundage that AF brought with her is gone (thank goodness), but no extra! No inches gone either! Oh well, I'll just keep plugging away.
Patty, *you* are an inspiration to me. I'd love to consistently workout as you do! I too marvel at how you ladies who work, manage to fit workouts in too! I have a difficult enough time when I'm home all day.
Linda, it feels good when you find something to wear that you really like. Enjoy your new outfits.
Lori, I'll keep those folks in your neck of the woods in my prayers. I suppose living in your part of the country, it's somewhat like here on the westcoast where you live with the knowledge that there could be a big earthquake at anytime and you just hope like heck that it doesn't happen!
A gazillion 15 minute projects here! I guess I'll start with a load of laundry!
