I'm curious about your Tuesday---what have you had to eat so far today?

Just did a "food" phone check in with my friend..we're both doing good so far but she had one portion of those new candies that look like chocolate covered chips and they have Reese's flavor..have you seen that ad on tv?

Had a pretty decent day today. Didn't get a workout in this morning, but after I dropped ds at kindergarten, I took Max and headed over to the local mall that just opened an Old Navy. I parked at the far end of the parking lot opposite where it is located, plunked ds in the buggy and hoofed it over. My calves were feeling it by the time we arrived. I was hoping to find some shorts on sale for Adam. He has a thing about wearing beach shorts and "other" shorts, i.e. cargo shorts for school! Sheesh they start young. Anyhoo, they had some shorts on sale (still not cheap), but I was darned if I was standing in line-ups 20 deep to pay for them! So we left and hoofed it all the way back to the car. Did a bit more mall shopping then came home and put a chicken in the oven for dinner. I'm planning on getting an UB workout in this evening while watching TV.

Deb, amazingly enough, I *hated* fish when I was a kid. I think I got that from my mom. She never did eat much and my sister still doesn't. I remember my dad coming home with all manner of fish though, ooligans, smelts, trout, kippers! He loved it all! Now, I'm pretty game to try any of it. The only thing I draw the line at is sea cucumber. I had it once and thought I was going to vomit. Seriously, it is the only thing I've eaten at an adult that I actually gagged back out onto my plate!!! It's gross! Do you like prawns, calamari, shrimp, crab, etc.?

Yes, I made the Risotto! Usually make lunches ahead on Sunday and store them in plasticware. Love to try lots of new recipes. Have a few from Williams Sonoma and Cooking Light that are great. Not really a chef but DH calls me a gourmet cook anyway…

Learned something new today -- don't pour oil into a mower after you turn it off when it has been running. Seems that fouls out the spark plug. So...it was after Tim got home and could take it out, run get a new one, and put it in before I got to finish mowing this evening. Just came in and am so dirty (again). It was 97 this afternoon, but I still got the pitiful pansies pulled up and cut back some of the snapdragons. Found some Ganzania Daisies at the nursery, bought 36 of them, and got them planted before I mowed. I've never had them before. They'll help fill in the places where the pansies were.

I'm looking forward to a bath and dinner!

Oh, I forgot to answer Deb's question earlier about grilling. We have a gas grill and grill pretty much year round. It's amazing how much better things tasted when grilled.

They were SO good tonight!! Even Tim ate all his with no problem. I think the important thing is to let them know they're not potatoes, so they don't expect an exact potato taste. I steamed the cauliflower after I cut off the stems and just had the florets. Drained it, then put it through a ricer, although most people probably use a masher or mixer. and then put it back in a large pan with some warm half and half, butter, and lots of salt and especially pepper. Then I kind of whisked some air into it. I could have made a meal off it, but the turkey was good too.
