**Otiose Saturday**

Ok, who knows what otiose means? One of it's meanings is lazy and that sums me up perfectly.I'm planning on kicking back some and making it an otiose Saturday.Planning on getting a workout in and have to take care of chickens but I absolutely positively will make hammock time today.

What's up with you guys?Anyone have a picnic planned today or over the weekend?Rhonda's FFs made me hungry and has me thinking about cookouts and picnics.I had to laugh when I read Nancy's post about expecting rain this weekend and being happy about it.Today is the first(and last) day for quite some time that we have 0 percent chance of rain.I plan to be out in the sunshine! What kind of weather are the rest of you expecting and how will you take advantage of it?

Ok, are you working out or sleeping in?Counting carbs or eating cake?Soaking up sun or napping in the rain?Whatever you're doing.....ENJOY!!!!

I thought I was fairly 'well read' and knew the meanings of lots of words but I have to admit that otiose threw me.

Stumped me, Patty!!

Another hot, sunny one here. I've already packed the sandwiches and drinks, put the stuff out by the car to be loaded, and we'll be heading to pick up Rob and a friend to head to the beach. Big surprise! Just wanted to stop by and say Happy Saturday Morning to everyone. I'll check back in later.

Otiose ... Isn't it pitiful when we have to find a dictionary while sitting at the computer?!

Good Morning,

I thought I had a very good vocabulary-but...thought it had something to do with hearing :)!No clue! Anyway...DH left at 3:30AM this morning to go fishing...his new found hobby. Of course, he wasn't particulary quiet about it and woke me up. He leaves I'm wide awake with a vicious headache. DS had said he was going to have a very late/or early arrival at home so that had me awake too waiting for the car door. Finally got up took some Advil was just dozing off when Otto decided he needed to not only go out and do his business but also just sit around outside and enjoy the predawn hours. He finally came in and was again dozing off and was awakened by his whining to be fed....you can tell he's a MALE dog! Needless to say I didn't get up until after 8. Like Patty, I'm feeling a bit Otiose myself today and really not sure whether I feel like working out or not. It is a beautiful day here although DD is a bit disappointed because it's actually a little bit too cool and windy for the beach. Other DD and her BF are heading into Brooklyn to meet up with a friend of hers from college. DS has already left for work and other DD is heading out for her usual Saturday. So I'm not really sure what's on my agenda. DH and I picked up some plants for pots for a window box and pots for the front steps. I may head back there to pick up some more plants for the area around the patio. I also may clean out the pantry closet and get rid of about a dozen cereal boxes that are in there with about a handful of cereal in each that no one wants to finish. I think what I'd really like to do is sit in my chair and read but someone has put my chair somewhere supposedly to put a coat of polyurethane on it....but they haven't returned it yet and I'm not happy! Don't they know they're not supposed to mess with a woman and her very favorite place to sit! And that male member better come up with some fish after waking me up this morning!

Rhonda, enjoy your day at the beach, Nancy sounds like a fun day planned and Patty enjoy that hammock time!

Whatever your plans enjoy the day!

Patty thanks for the new word. No lazy time here. My house is a mess, I have baking to do, laundry to do, grocery shopping..........and just maybe a walk. Its definatly been low on my priority list lately. Just feeling a tad overwhelmed. Bill and Rob are off to the local race track to fine tune his car this afternoon. My old high school friend and her hubby are in town from Florida and coming by for some coffee and cake later tonight. Hense the baking and cleaning of the house. We are off to the track in NJ as a family tomorrow, my folks and Bill's will be joining us. Should make for a fun and busy day. So that is my exciting plans. I need to get some water into me today. Bill and I went out to our favorite Mexican resturant last night and I had a few too many glasses of Sangria and the Seafood Enchildas were a little salty. I am feeling it this morning.

Nancy getting a trailer to take your trike south sounds like a great idea. How many times have you been out with your new trike? Meeting up with your dd sounds great and fun. Apple trees, yum! Do they smell good? We need some flowering stuff in our yard, way too much green around here.

Have fun at the beach! How far from the beach are you guys? Which beach do you guys go to? I wish it would warm up some around here. We are finally clear, sky wise but there is a wind/chill still in the air.

It is going to be an otiose weekend for me. I went to the gym to use the elliptical for 48 minutes so I won't feel guilty if I do just laze around the rest of the weekend. I do have to teach Pilates Monday, so I know I will be getting in another workout before the extended weekend is over.

Electrician is here putting in new outdoor lights. So, we will be hanging around most of the day. I am going to start making the potato salad, cole slaw and marinate the meat for tomorrow. No company coming but I have to have a bbq anyway. Maybe we can spend a few hours at the Old
