OK, I've gone easy on us the last several weeks, but this morning you need to put your thinking caps on for at least some of these. I think we'll all benefit from them and maybe have our eyes opened, as well. Lurkers, don't hold back!

1. What do you expect to get from this board from your participation?

2. What do you expect to add to the board by your participation?

3. Do you

***I expect/hope to get support, ideas, understanding, information, encouragement, kudos, a kick in the butt, humor, caring, friendship, wisdom often from experience, motivation, role models, recipe ideas, movie and book reviews, travel descriptions, progress reports on how board members and their families are doing, prayers when requested, and so many other

1) I think I expect and get a unique bond that only women can share.Men are great but think how quiet a board with just men would be!!!!Heck we can get a long thread going with a post about food, shoes, MEN, whatever.I love that.I know if I need to vent or whine or share great news you guys will be here. That is such a great feeling.

2)Well obviously I bring my "youth" to the board!!LOL I hope I bring my friendship and genuine care and concern to the group.

3)I've definitely gotten as much and more than I've given to this group. If I've been gone or can't get to the board I can't wait to get back to it.I love hearing about what you have done, the challenges you've faced, the goals you've met.I really love posts about family. Just the day to day stuff that means so much.

4)I love to come to the board and pull up a post that just makes me laugh out loud. The other day there was a thread about running. Rhonda and Nancy posted the only things that make them run and I cracked up.I also love how much support this is on this board.I think the fact that we talk about so many different things adds alot to the board.

5)I don't like when someone stays away because they feel like they are in a slump and can't post about it.To very honest when the only squat I do is to get in my chair and I don't come out of a bag of chips for days and I pull up a "come on get moving post" I just say "Yeah Yeah".However the 2nd or 3rd time I read it I usually do get motivated.Or I pullout of my mood the next day or so.But sometimes I want or need to read that someone else is struggling.I love to pull up a post and think "I know just how they feel".I also need to have my butt kick sometimes. And sometimes when someone posts that they haven't been around because they've just been too busy I think Man I'm here all the time and I need to get a life!!!!!

I really miss those that don't post anymore and that makes me sad.I think everyone offers something unique and special to the group and the loss of anyone is really felt.

Miss P

1. What do you expect to get from this board from your participation? When I came here and joined in I had hopes of getting support and motivation in my search for a healthier me. I not only got the support and motivation I got a new family and I feel like part of that family, not just a lurker.

2. What do you expect to add to the board by your participation? I hope that my participation helps someone. Although I am not as dedicated as many of you I try to be honest and I am a good listener and I understand how and what many here feel from time to time.

3. Do you feel you've gotten as much as you've given or are you feeling something is lacking? If so, what? It's OK to be blunt. We're big girls and we can take it. ;-)Sometimes I feel like I have fallen short and not delivered the goods. I read what you all acomplish each day and how you all love and enjoy your fitness and how you are able to get up and move almost everyday. That is something I lack and wish I could find.

4. What is one of your favorite things about the board? The power to continue. It amazes me that if one of us falls, the others are quickly there to push her back up with continued encouragment.

5. What is one of your least favorite things about the board? I can not keep up. I do not have the driving force that so many of you have.

Deb

PS: Rhonda, way too much work on a Friday morning. Got the old brain moving sooner then I wanted. Thanks!

1. What do you expect to get from this board from your participation?

I've gotten so much more than I ever expected. I've found a group of fabulous woman from all different parts of the country and sometimes the world with diverse backgrounds, ways of life but yet able to share so much. So I guess I already know that I'll find a good dose of humor, tears of joy when something good happen and lots of cyber tissues and a big hug when things go bad, prayers and good thoughts whenever they are needed with a good dose of spiritual uplift.

2. What do you expect to add to the board by your participation?

I hope that I add how much I care for each one of you. I hope I'm able to add comfort, encouragement and support when you're sad, and when you celebrate for whatever reason I'm celebrating right there with you.

3. Do you feel you've gotten as much as you've given or are you feeling something is lacking? If so, what? It's OK to be blunt. We're big girls and we can take it. ;-) I've gotten so much more than I could ever possibly give.

4. What is one of your favorite things about the board? The wealth of knowledge here is just incredible. Just knowing that someone will have been where you've been and knows where you're coming from. Posing a question that you think no one could possibly have experienced and to find someone else who has experienced the same thing. I also love how so many of you put your thoughts into words. The beauty and expression in so many of your posts just leaves me with such good thoughts.

5. What is one of your least favorite things about the board? I also wonder what happens to people when they disappear.

A little too much thinking this AM! Thank you as always Miss Rhonda!

1. What do you expect to get from this board from your participation?

Inspiration, advice, honest outreach and compassionate critique, laughs, friendship, exchange of ideas on the topic of fitness and off.

2. What do you expect to add to the board by your participation?

I hope I have offered the same as I expect to get (and have received, by the way!).

3. Do you feel you've gotten as much as you've given or are you feeling something is lacking? If so, what? It's OK to be blunt. We're big girls and we can take it. ;-)

Honestly, I expect whatever you have in you to give considering the realities of your lives. We all have different demands on us. I think the point is to come here with few expectations and to be surprised, cheered, encouraged, and thrilled with what comes back from all the members, and to offer the kind of support that any one member might need at any given time. I do believe we are meant to be cheerleaders for each other, sounding boards for when we start to feel that things are getting out of control or are even just a little off and are wondering if we're going crazy or it's everyone around us who is!

4. What is one of your favorite things about the board?

That we provide each other with sanity checks. I don't lurk around the other boards much to see what they're up to, but I do think we're somewhat unique in that regard. Also the concern that we feel when "regulars" drop out of contact for a while, how someone will take the initiative to see what's up, and post back that things are ok but a bit overwhelming for that member. That we can post about a problem and get back an approach to dealing with it that is different from and maybe more effective than the one we came up with on our own.

5. What is one of your least favorite things about the board?

Nothing, truly.

My brain hurts. Time to go home . Thanks, Rhonda!

Deb, you should feel a lot better after reading how little I do exercise-wise. Maybe that's my main contribution to the board. No one should feel like a slacker compared to me. ;-)

Thanks, Margie!

So sorry to hear about the fierce storms you're having and the damage to your home! I hope that you'll be able to get it totally repaired quickly, so no further damage happens and it's not too great an inconvenience. I hope nothing of sentimental value got damaged.

Stay safe!

Hugs,

Rhonda
