Good morning. Is anyone else as lazy as I am today? Are the rest of you who are having lots of rain sick of it????Supposedly we are going to get glimpses of sunshine this afternoon. And hopefully as the week goes on we will get back to the 80s.Maybe even 92 later in the week.If we hit 90 the Palace Pool will be opening.Who wants to join me?It will be BYOCB(bring your own cabana boy).LOL Would love to se DHs face if this group of women pulled up on the farm accompanied with cabana boys.

So what's up for today with everyone? Are you relaxing or working? Is your day filled with family and friends or is it an "all about me" day which includes quality pampering time.

Hope however you spend your day it's a goo one!

Miss P

What a great spur of the moment thing to do, Rhonda. You must have known your help would be needed and there you were. It is nice they come to visit as often as they do with all the kids. Sounds like a fun time.

Hope you have a good day and a great visit too!

What a stinky start to the day all around Deb. That is not the first time you had to turn around from the event because of weather. Too bad there isn't a way to find out before you take off to go, especially with the traffic and the price of gas. AT least you can fill up a little cheaper in NJ. I HATE seeing accidents when traveling. It gets me so worried the rest of the time I am traveling.

This weather is a bit much. I guess it could be worse...like HHH with temps in the 100s.

Have a relaxing afternoon.

I am another Reaganite. The 80s were very uplifting after closing out the 70s the way we did, with runaway inflation, high unemployment, and a horrible hostage crisis that our then-president (who I believe was and is kind, but inept). Naysayers scoff "Schyeah, Reagan was an actor." Who cares if Reagan was an actor? He was blessed with a gift like that, and he used it to make the nation feel good about itself, and made us see and feel like we could rise above whatever it was that brought us down. Unlike many presidents before and the three since, he could reach the general populace, and it may have well been because of his ability to act. Very few leaders have ever made the majority of the population feel that good about our country and our abilities as a nation.

I saw a part of a Reagan biography on the History Channel last night that I think many of you will be interested in. Reagan's pastor was talking, and recalled a conversation he had with the President while he was recuperating in the hospital from the attempt on his life in 1981. The pastor (whose name escapes me) asked Reagan "Would you be ready to die if the time came?" Reagan's initial response was something like "No! I've got a country to lead and people who are counting on their leaders in a time of national hardship." The pastor had meant something quite different and rephrased his question. "Mr. President, are you personally prepared to meet God if your time would come now?" Reagan contemplated and replied "Yes... I am." The Pastor pursued it a little further, asking "Why do you believe you are indeed prepared to meet God?" The President stated, deliberately but with deep conviction: "Because I have a Savior." Wow. Even being a Reagan supporter, that was not something I knew about him.

For me today... our church broke ground on it's upcoming expansion, after a wonderful message delivered - more on that in a separate post. Came home and cooked dinner, a ham, spinach and rice casserole (super easy, tasty and no rich condensed soups). Watched a little TV. I'm *planning* on doing my UB/LB workout, but we'll see if I make it! I feel pretty content today doing next to nothing. My legs are a little sore from yesterday, after not having exercised at all for 4 days. Then again, a walk or bike ride with the family would be great fun, I think!
