The Haircut from ......

Ok, I know there are bigger issues in life than my unhappiness with my hair and my thighs BUT....I went yesterday with a very cute picture and the woman ,who was really nice, begins cutting away. The picture was actually like mine just shorter.Pretty much a chin length bob, with some layering.Next thing I know she turns me around and as Phyllis would say Good Lawd!!!!!I have choppy layers going in every direction!!!!She is all excited and says she loves it and I look younger!!!!Why does a 39yr old need to look any younger????I come home in tears and DH just rolls his eyes at me!!!No sympathy at all from him which only made things worse. Then today I'm trying to work with it and I find myself humming "I think I love you". Why , you ask?????Because I look like David Cassidy!!!!!I send my friend an email , tell her what I did ,why I did it and how unhappy I am with it.She calls and says "come over for lunch or coffee or something".She is so sweet and says not one bad word. But later she is looking at me and says"your hair is one inch longer on one side than the other"!She took me in her kitchen and cut til it was evened out..It does look better but now my long hair and is gone and I have closer layers than I want. The she just grinned at me and said"that's what you get for cheating one me".Ok, so we decided that in Oct when possibly I may be ready for another cut she will do it. If she is too busy or doesn't want to she will say so.And I will just be patient and wait til she can.

Happier but still humming Partridge Family songs.......

Patty, sending big hugs your way. I'm sorry that your new haircut turned out to be less than you had hoped for. But there are a couple of things to keep in mind. One....your hair will grow out. Two....you are truly blessed with a wonderful friend! You could always buy a wig until it grows out! LOL

Now Patti I am sure you did not want me laughing as I read your hair cut story but sweetie we all have horrible hair cut stories we can share. Like you said you can grow it back. Think it is shorter for the summer months which should be cooler for you. I am sorry about the mess and I do feel for you. (((((HUGS)))))

Flower to cheer you up, hon. Sorry that it brought you down. I think everybody here can totally relate - if not with a similar story, with horrible pictures of styles we once thought suited us! (The kind that makes you go YIKES!) Good news is that, proportion-wise, shorter hair seems to grow out faster. I think you'll be able to shape it up well before October.

Had to laugh re: The Partridge Family! Every once in a while I'll find myself humming Archie tunes, like "Sugar Sugar". It's rather gratifying that I can pull out my old kiddie albums like the Archies and play them - for myself, but under the guise of sharing them with Allison! Haven't drug out the Partridge Family yet, though I know they're somewhere around here....

How's this for friendship?? Last night I dreamed that I put a darker color on my hair to see how blonde highlights would look if they were darkened, so you'd know if it worked or not!!!!

oh - it can be so frustrating and downright depressing when you go in with this clear idea of what you want and end up with this disaster on your head.... ugh. as everyone mentioned, it's nice that hair grows quickly!

men have it so easy. pooh.

as for music - i just found out that Alex likes Barry Manilow! (I was shocked) I fessed up that I used to have a bunch of Barry Manilow albums... and we started singing Mandy together. ;-)

seems to be that kind of week...

No, but it's a little darker blonde than it was so I don't feel like an upright flashlight any more.

Any drastic change (hey I was blond once LOL) takes some getting used to..so how do you feel about it today, Sunday?

Still hate it. The layers are too choppy and it takes longer to do even though it is shorter. On a better note though I colored it myself and I love that.It was way too blonde and now it's brown with subtle golden highlights.I think in a few weeks it will grow out enough that I will be much happier with it.
