Good morning everyone! Can you believe it's another Monday, another week?Do you have your day and your week planned, or are you winging it?

Yesterday in the Sunday comics Garfield was thinking about what birthdays bring.First he thought grey hair and wrinkles. Then his face lit up because he remembered cake!!!!LOL Sometimes it takes awhile to find the good in something.

What's up with everyone today? We're almost halfway thru June, how's the goals going?Anyone reward themselves if they meet their goals?

Hope everyone has a wonderful Monday!!!

Good morning!

What a beautiful weekend the weatherpeople brought us. We didn't stay home much - just tooled around, shopped, took some walks (strolls more than powerwalks), and otherwise enjoyed it. We needed it after the sadness of the previous week. We went to a local church strawberry festival Saturday afternoon and indulged in fresh strawberry shortcake with bisquits and fresh unsweetened whipped cream. Heavenly! Then we went out to dinner Saturday night and, continuing down the slippery slope, overdid it - appetizers and dessert (shared), and no doggy bags to bring home. I don't know about you, but I can't save seared duck breast for a doggy bag. "Doggy" would starve! Yum!

We got the new hedge trimmers and DH did give the yew bushes on the side of the house a serious haircut, but still has some work to do on the ones out front. I'd like to give a couple of them a shot - most of them are now tall enough to try to sculpt into shapes other than flat-top drums or rounded powderpuffs, so we'll see if carving bushes becomes part of my Monday workout, weather permitting. Rain and thunderstorms threatening for later today and most of tomorrow. We did not buy half-whiskey-barrels and I did not plant annuals, so that turned out to be a lot more talk than action. All the overgrowth in our backyard is back. It's too much for us to handle with hand tools, plus I spotted some poison ivy starting to climb up the arbor vitae that's near the house, so we'll spray that and I'll be calling the landscape company we had come out a few years ago for another major cleanup. I'm thinking of having them estimate some additional landscape services to get us started - just laying down landscape fabric and bringing in however much cedar mulch we need to keep the overgrowth down. Then we might actually be able to see the forest for the tress and get some organization out there.

Back to my heavy workout tonight. I didn't kill myself, but I didn't do too badly with activity this weekend either, so the scale is right where it was before the food orgy Saturday. Time to step it up a bit.

Hope you can kick off your week with a great Monday!

I started this morning by cleaning and organizing the little stairstep shelves I have on my vanity.

Lori - Whining? Here? Who? Never noticed. And who cares if you're whining, anyway? The point is to get it out and move on. You're allowed. Your LAD system makes excellent sense; hope it produces the outcome you desire - and deserve.

Susan - Prayers continuing for little Joseph. And for some solid information for you from your new battery of tests.

Nancy - Prayers for your DD, also.

Do you post something and leave and see that it disappeared???

So sorry to hear you've been down. What can we do to help? One thing I really admire about you is that you find a way to tackle your issues. When you couldn't do jazzercise you moved on to something else. Now you're reading and learning about ways to deal with your food issues.I think that is fantastic.

Palaver, cool word. Never used it before.I learn so much from this group.

Good morning ladies. I haven't been around much, as you know. Wish I could say it was because I was devoting all my time to working out, but that just ain't so!!!

It's just been a bit of a crazy week and I haven't been able to get back in "my groove" since my house full of company left. The weather here has been rainy and damp, but I'm not complaining. It was much needed and we are expecting a strong front of hot weather to move in within a day or two. The gardens got a very good drenching. I think I will go out and fertilize mine today so that it soaks right in!

Dh and I have spent some good time re-connecting. On Saturday night we put the boys to bed, cracked a bottle of wine, lit some candles and listened to old cd's until two in the morning. Lots of fun.

Yesterday I had all of my kids in and out throughout the day. My oldest ds and his girlfriend were over for dinner, my oldest dd was here for dinner too (and to do her laundry):), youngest dd came home from her friend's house just before they left. All of the male folk were into a rip roaring came of Battleship! Nice relaxing day.

Not sure how this is happening, but I'm not complaining. I've been a slug the last couple of weeks, eating whatever I feel like, and I'm down another pound. Is it possible that it's delayed reaction or something? All that hard work I did a while ago when nothing happened and now all of a sudden it's catching up? I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth. I think I'll hop back into phase 1 of SBD and see if I can keep the momentum going.

I will get some exercise in today. I don't have a car today, so I will be walking to school to get ds and his little buddy for a playdate. DD has my car today, as I need her to be home from work by 3:30 today. I have a date for drinks and dinner with a couple of my girlfriends at the Union Club. Okay, so SBD can wait one more day! LOL

Nancy, I'll keep your dd in my prayers. I hope that whatever the situation, there is a good outcome for her.

Lori, big hugs! I can totally sympathize with you. Is it possible that AF is looming and could account for the extra baggage?

Have a great week ladies!!

Shar
