I was always a weekly weigher but with the reappearance of Flo, not exercising and with not excersing usually the onset of things I really shouldn't be eating and with all the extra baggage that has become attached to me I've been a daily weigher. Just now coming back down the scale. Of course I can also blame, Breyer's, Edy's!
generally about every 2 weeks or so. i try to take into account that Aunt Flo is signalling a visit and such... i would avoid weighing myself more than once a week. with all the ups and downs your body does during a typical week, i would go nuts if i did it more often.
i also don't pay as much attention to the scale (other than wanting to avoid it going up past a certain level) and i pay much more attention to my tape measure - but i avoid doing that more than every week too...
Thanks everyone!! I learned a few things in the last few years..I do need to get on the scale every once in awhile (avoided it for a long time), but it is totally frustrating to me to weigh-in weekly for WW with ups and downs.
I used to do it biweekly. At some point before I restarted my exercising, I didn't see enough of a difference weekly like I used to, and that's discouraging.
But after coming to the semi-conclusion that my weight goal might be unrealistic, I hardly step on the scales at all anymore. Here's my routine when I do finally get on the scales: After a weekend or spell where I eat too much, I'll get back into a better routine for about 3-4 days and ONLY THEN do I step on the scales. By waiting, I know any temporary bloatedness/weight gain is gone and it's a more just measure of where I am. If I step on the scales the day after my overindulgence, I don't think I'd react positively and I wouldn't view temporary gains for what they are.
When I'm serious about losing weight, I weigh every morning. When I'm being bad I quit weighing myself, as I have done for the past month! I stepped on the darn scale yesterday and YUCK! Now I have to get back on track! I'm hoping that following along with you guys on this board will help give me incentive! (S) You all sound so inspirational.
Deb - One of my coworkers is now a WW lifer. She lost about 40 lbs and reached goal last fall. She still goes for weigh-ins every 2 weeks on Fridays, and enjoys her weekends within reason. Her weigh-in outfit is a parachute fabric jogging suit. She removes her shoes and any jewelry she might be wearing before stepping on the scale. To her, every ounce counts!
