It was finally a dr's visit with no unexpected surprises. All the tests were negative my blood pressure was back to a normal reading and all the edema is gone. I am very happy with the news but wondering if staying off my feet and taking a backseat to things around the house were the actual reason for everything going back to a more normal state. It's the first time in a very long time that I let things really slide around here, actually did sit down and take the time to read or to do nothing, maybe it's someone knocking on my head and telling me hello you can feel better if you let happen. There's nothing I can do to control the pressures of work but there are things I can control on the home front. If it takes not doing things around here that used to be done then it's time for me to say so be it. I don't think anyone around here will be too upset about it and if they are well they can pick up the slack. I have already had one too many conversations about me being the one man band around here, and I have to learn to look the other way sometimes and not let it get under my skin. Hopefully this will be the end of tests and all too frequents visits to the doctor.

Susan,

I hope the doctor has your problems figured out. Hope you are able to slow down a bit in your busy life.

Susan, I am so glad that the tests were normal and your BP was down...and the swelling was down.

That has got to be a big relief, Susan. I'm glad to hear the good news.

And I'm really glad to hear you talk about taking time for yourself and turning a blind eye to the homefront. Sometimes you have to sit back and say I'm not up to this. You have a lot of people around who are mature enough to help themselves. A few mornings with no clean underwear or no nice meals on the table at dinner hour ought to wake them up.

Happy dancing for you while you keep your feet up!

I'm so glad the visit and the tests went well.I keep saying the math is not working right at my house;3 people use the bathroom but only one cleans it.Same with other areas of the house. It gets annoying.Hope you find time to rest and take care of yourself. The housework will still be there or better yet the others may help more.

That is great news, Susan! Glad to hear that you had a lightbulb moment too. Taking it easy and taking care of you does keep you healthier. Now, was your bp normal and you were off the medicine? (I seem to remember reading that the doc said to stop taking it when your foot swelled and you complained of fatigue.) That has to be a real breakthrough! From now on, if I need any tests done, I will ask you first what they were like. You have run the gamut there!

Believe me, the family will learn fast to do things when they realize they don't have underwear or food in the house or dinner cooked. So glad you will be listening to your body from now on and taking care of you more. Once you can used to looking at things not done the way you would like to see them, it will get easier to let go.

As I keep trying to tell myself...they will never put on a headstone..
She was a good housekeeper!

Really glad to hear the good news. Now...go celebrate!

I'm so glad that blood pressure is back down & your swelling is gone, Susan. Yes, your health is more important than making sure everything gets accomplished around the home - your family will figure out that they will have to do some work around the home, too, after awhile.

Hugs,
