How was your day? Did anything extra special nice happen to you or were you extra special nice to someone else? Have you had a "playtime" today or are you still planning on getting one in today? Did you stick to your eating plans?

It's been a pretty good day. I did get a little munchy this afternoon...but it's good when there's an office kitchen with nothing in it and not quite so desperate to go up three flights to visit the vending machines! I haven't gotten a playtime in yet hoping to do that this evening.

The weather has turned ugly. It turned pitch black around 4 PM and the rain just came down in sheets. Several people coming out of the office comments that they had left their sunroofs or windows cracked a bit since it was so warm and humid today and they were greeted with some very wet interiors. It's now turned just miserably humid with no air movement at all and everything is just sticky and smelly. I was greeted when I came home to an overturned kitchen garbage pail with garbage from one end of the kitchen to the other. There are now coffee grounds and yuck all over the kitchen floor and various remains of food having been dragged into the dining room. Please bear in mind that my kitchen garbage pail is wedged between the refrigerator and a wall with a shelve over the top of it. So this crazy dog of mine has to expend a lot of energy to get this pail out. So needless to say the house is very warm with everything having been closed up, the stagnant air and the ripe smell of kitchen garbage lingering in the air. Not a nice surprise to come home too! Apparently the stale yucky bagels that were ingested by Otto has filled him up and I was not greeted by the eager prance to his bowl upon my arrival. Instead he was lying on my bedroom carpet looking quite full and not too proud of himself when I had to yell at him!

Work has been very busy and I find myself falling behind on a lot of things--but I just keep plugging along to get caught up again.

Hope you've had a good Thursday and that the blessings of the day have been many! Enjoy your evening!

LOL I know that was an awful mess to come home to but Otto always tickles me.

A pretty good day here.Went out to do my run but it was really hot, 92 by 10 am.So I did half outside then the rest inside on the treadmill. Two things I learned;1)get my run in before it gets hot and 2) do not drink 24 ounces of water halfway thru.Did LB workout while I worked on supper. It's taken me 3 days but I finally got my yard mowed.Food has gone pretty well today. Maybe because I stayed busy and also because I just said "If you want it, have it".Amazing how much less I want it if it's not so forbidden.

Today I had planned to have a very lazy day but it didn't work out that way.Stayed busy all day. And Dh has been home working THREE days now which has really messed up my routine.I'm kicking him out tomorrow.Actually I've been so snippy he may just run for the door.

Still have work to finish in CL. May get in some hammock time before I head that way.

Well, eating was good. Nancy and Patty, I am supporting the farming community - I ate a field full of salad greens today at lunch and dinner. My nose has started to wiggle involuntarily. It's too clammy even to cook on top of the stove and too buggy to stand outside over the grill, so DH suggested Old Country Buffet for dinner. Found out it was barbeque night and when I walked in I said "Oh, cr^p, how am I gonna get through this?" Well, I did fine - one piece of bbq chicken breast (left part of it), a humongo salad, green beans, summer/zucchini squash mix, a bite of DH's cornbread, and a spoonful of his cherry cobbler for dessert.

I am now on the edge of blowing off my (play)out. I'm feeling draggy. I have a half-hour to decide to follow through on my exercise plans or call myself a wimp and just go to bed. I'm thinking Scarlett O'Hara had the right attitude - tomorrow is another day. So in my indecision, I'll have to check in with you in the morning and let you know whether I worked out or bugged out. Please, don't let the suspense keep you awake!

Susan, I'm so sorry your dear doggy left you such an incredible gift. Like the others, I did find myself smiling at the image of a trash trail with a happy and contented pup at the other end. Hope the cleanup wasn't too awful.

Have a good night!

Donna

Well, I really am wondering if I'm in the right group here. You are all such inspirational people. I don't know if I really fit in. It seems all I do is work these days. I just finally got home after a long day of work. (13+hours) and find myself a bit tired. I also came down with this crazy cold and my nose feels like it is going to fall off! I'm sure it will still be attached tomorrow, but right now it feels rather worn out from blowing. Summer colds just are not fun. That's probably why I'm not in the best of mood this evening.

The weather is cool here in SD and doesn't seem too humid this evening. The weatherman says it may be 40 when we wake up tomorrow. Things are nice and green though and I enjoy my drive home through the lush prairies and hills. It's just beautiful out here now. One morning I saw a small herd of antelope.

Anyway! I enjoy reading your posts even if I don't have much to contribute.

Don't think that you need to 'keep up' on this board.

Got a lot off the To Do list, plus we celebrated The Cus's birthday. Choco cake with choco icing... ask me again about my eating plans, LOL! I'm not going to pass up a b'day celebration! Other than that though, yes, I pulled in the reigns a bit. Didn't get a workout in, but that was in the back of my head that I might not.

oh I *hate* summer colds! I'm just getting over one too. They have got to be the worst...

I personally feel that a lot of these women are wonderful role models. I can't imagine trying to actually keep up with them, mind you, but still - they remind me what can be done. Don't worry about keeping up with them, just worry about keeping up with yourself.

BTW - 13+ hours is an incredibly long work day (as I'm *sure* you know) and it's not at all a surprise that you're wiped afterward. I found that, for me, a bit of yoga when I got home often helped me to do some recuperation from a long, awful workday. Just an idea.
