I was thinking about you yesterday and wondering how you were feeling.Sounds like it's time to make a drs appointment!I don't know much about hysterctomies.A couple of drs have mentioned it as a method to help my hormonal migraines. But since I basically manage them ok I worry the surgery would just introduce other issues.I'd have to go on hormone replacement to offset it I think and not sure I want to deal with all that.I don't know of anyone that has had a hysterectomy so not much info here. But I really do think you should talk with your dr about the symptons you've been having.Take care, Deb.
I don't think anyone is too young for a hysterctomy based on the circumstances. It definitely sounds like you're having issues that need to be discussed with your doctor. Hysterectomy brings about it's own problems and I personally would want to hear a lot of other options before that one. Hope you schedule an appointment and see what's going on!
As a poll question, no, I don't think we're too young for hysterectomies. I think there should be a sound medical reason for having it done, as some of the cases already mentioned.
I guess I just want to distinguish that from a few decades ago when hyst's were done just because a woman was past child-bearing age. Medical science has since found that our reproductive system still plays a part in our chemical balance even as we age.
My first thought was maybe a prolapsed uterus, but I'm not a doctor. This link may be helpful. Has your dr. mentioned what could be causing that feeling?
My mom had one in her 40's too. I think it was much more common back then than it is now. However, I do have a friend who had one in her early 40's for the same reason as your mom. Turned out to be severe fibroids. I think your health rather than your age is the deciding factor for surgery.
