Ahh, Wednesday, almost the end of another week in Funtown! I'm taking Friday off, just to hang around, do some normal weekend chores, and get ready for the block party. Looks like Friday is supposed to be a rainy day, so I'll definitely put off washing windows until Saturday morning. I'll do the cooking Friday while it's cool. And I'll be posting and reading, too. Nice to be able to do that without feeling like I need to look over my shoulder.

Nice day here today. A little muggy, but not unbearable, sunny, and breezy. I already got DH to commit to a walk tonight when we get home. So that's my workout. Had another good one last night, cardio and freeweights. Finished too late to do any more posting or reading than I did.

Back to healthy eating tonight - grilled swordfish, broccoli, sweet potatoes for me, maybe a noodle side dish for DH. I've been doing pretty well with eating, except for last night's fling with Chinese food. Also doing fewer lunches out - been doing salad-bar takeout a lot and really sticking to the good stuff that's offered.

Hope those of you and your families who've been in sick bay are ready to leave. Shar and the boys, Rhonda - feel better.

Susan, happy birthday to your DH. Cold Stone Creamery just opened up nearby, to give my boyfriends Ben & Jerry a little competition. Being fickle about ice cream, I'm going to have to have a Cold Stone taste test. I hope Otto feels better soon - we should take a lesson about binging from your pooch!

Nancy, have fun in town with your kids. I like your idea of a nice day - and a walk with Annie to start it off will be fun.

Anna - hope you find a trainer to work with you. You sound serious about the weights!

Grace - Where have you gone to? Hope the foot hasn't laid you low again.

Have a great day, everyone!

Boring day here too, which at this point is good. I do need to run some errands later, but I'm mostly resting today and doing some laundry. This bug is wearing me out.

Right now it's hot and sunny, but I think we're set for more afternoon "fireworks." It seems that I can sit and watch the grass grow as I type...

Hope everyone has a good day. Patty, thanks for your good wishes.

Rhonda

Good morning ladies.

I wish I could report that our family is on the mend, but alas, we just don't seem to be able to shake this darn bug. Everyone was feeling a bit better yesterday. Adam had a sports day at school that we went to. But today, we're all under the weather again and I'm keeping Adam home from school. If it hasn't cleared up by the end of the week I may call the doctor, but I don't think drugs are gonna help much. I ended up with a whomping earache the night before last. I could hear the fluid sloshing around inside. I tried a bunch of stuff and finally decided to grab some mint from my garden and put it in a bowl of bowling water and steamed my head! It worked. I may have to do that today today, as I can feel that side of my head acting up again.

On a sad note, dh's Uncle George that came to visit a couple of week's ago, passed away last night. He had a very bad cough while here and looked particularly frail. The family took him to hospital on Father's Day and they said it was pneumonia. That evening he had a heart attack and last night he passed away. I said to dh after they left that it seemed like he was making his final rounds. He was 85 and lived a long, full life, so I guess you can't really ask for much more.

No work out for me today. I need to get my house cleaned up. That will be workout enough. We have dinner out tonight, but tomorrow FIL is cooking a big dinner here. There will probably be about 20 people and I am so not looking forward to it!

Sorry to be so whiney! I'll be happy to see the weekend when we can have the house back to ourselves.

Have a good day everyone.

i'm glad you were able to say goodbyes to dh's Uncle George. i'm sure it will be hard, especially for your dh; and you're not being whiney at all.

my condolences.

Good Morning Board Buddies!

Wow, this week is going by pretty fast for me and it's been fairly slow paced

My sympathies to your family, Shar. Uncle George had the comfort of family around him just before he passed. I hope you all have good memories of his last visit and of his long life.

The construction industry has gotta' love your family! Happy to hear such good progress is being made on your DD's house. Amazing how kids begin to realize how much work their parents have to go through to keep up a home once they get one themselves. Of course, their needs are still the priority though. ;-)

Since I had family here and then got sick, we haven't been out to the movies in a while, so I don't know anything about the latest ones out.

Shar, my sympathies to your family about your Uncle George. I know it's never easy to say good-bye to someone, but I'm glad you got to spend some time with him recently and that he lived a long life.

Sure hope your family gets better soon. I don't know if we have the same thing, but it's no fun. Take care.

Hugs,

Rhonda
