I'm smilin' - I didn't get to working out until after noon, but it was a good one. After a warm-up which included 18 push ups (those last two are DIFFICULT!), I did my abs workout (14 mins) then hit the road for a run. It had stopped drizzling and the temp was starting to climb (upper 70s), but the sun was still behind the clouds. Did 4.02 miles (walking just about 1/10th up Big Hill) in just under 42 minutes. Sun finally came blasting down on the home stretch. Might be a good day to take Al to the pool after all. Good workout - time for my shower!

My greatest fear is that there is no PMS and this is my personality.

Since I'm getting online so late, I'll just do my post here.
Sounds like a really good workout, Linda. I should be doing that!
Rob spent the night at a friend's house and surf was almost non-existent, so Tim and I took it easy this morning before heading out to the beach about 11. Tide wasn't good for hunting for sharks' teeth, but I still found 46 and the very first off-white one I've ever found! Also, found

DH wasn't ready when I got back to pick him up - a couple of appointments before his ran long. So I sat and read magazines and kept sticking my thumb in a second iced coffee while I waited. The nurse came out, gave me the "all clear" news on DH, and said to meet them out front with the car. She brought him out, told him to make like a couch potato for the rest of the day, and invited him back in 10 years. That's a small load off our minds. All DH could think of through his post-sedative fog was food, but he was told to wait a while before he ate anything and to eat light. Ha! He waited for the discomfort to pass, then sent me out to get chicken parm, pasta, and salad. He didn't eat the whole meal, but made a dent and felt quite pleased with himself afterward. He's back to his own self today.
Today was also our neighborhood block party. There are lots of new families in the neighborhood since the one last year, so it was nice to finally meet the people we've been waving to as we get home from work in the early evening. We had a brief downpour just as we were finished with the food, but we just hung around under a thick cluster of trees and prayed that there wouldn't be lightning. There wasn't, the shower was heavy but passed pretty quickly, and the party went on. We brought my mom home around 8 pm, and came home to find the diehards still out, sitting around an outdoor firepit, with the kids who are still awake toasting marshmallows. It's quite cool outside, so the 'skeeters are quiet.
On Sunday we're having breakfast with my ILs, then my coworker who held the Pampered Chef party a few weeks ago is coming over to bring my stuff. We've already planned a walk around here, and will probably make it the 4-mile route; I don't know if I'm going to be able to do any freeweight work with one good hand. I'll try the machine and see how that feels, and probably just stay with that for the week if it doesn't hurt.
Off to put some ice on the fat thumb and watch Trading Spaces with DH. I might check in tomorrow, but I want to limit my play time on the computer until the fat thumb returns to normal. Have a good weekend if I don't "talk" to you all again 'til Monday.
Donna
Donna, so sorry to hear about your thumb! Can't tell you how many times I sprained my left one (and I'm left-handed) playing softball in my teens. I know it's painful. Sure wish I were there to loan you a magnet. They really do help things like that, as Rob has found out. You might want to put a splint on it to immobilize it and take ibuprofen. The dr. used to always put a splint on mine. Even if you just have an Ace bandage or something, it might make it feel better.
Sounds as though you had a good time at your block party and have a good day planned for tomorrow. Really happy to hear your husband did so well on his test.
We had a big storm this evening with thunder and lightning, but it's passed now. Glad the storm didn't mess up your party.
Take care and hugs,
Rhonda
