Tuesday afternoon check-ins!! Tell us
10

how your day is progressing.

I went to lunch with my friend and actually had to force myself to eat a salad and some sourdough bread, both of which I really like. We had a good time, but had to cut it short (only 2 hrs. and 45 min. instead of the usual 4 hrs. ;-), because the strong medicine I'm on is upsetting my stomach, and she had an eye appt. I was starting to get clammy after we ate and decided to sit at one of the outdoor tables. Don't know if it was being sick in the heat, the upset stomach, or both. I did feel a lot better when I came in the AC. It's only 94 today, but since I've been sick it feels about 10 degrees hotter than whatever it is. I did run by Walmart and pick up a slightly darker shade of blonde for the next time I do my hair. My roots are starting to show, so it was on my mind.

When I got home, I needed to turn around and run Rob back to his friend's house so he can head back to the beach for 6 days. I want to go!!! Instead, I will be going to bed shortly to rest. I noticed on the way home that I was having a sharp pain in my right lung each time I inhaled. It's stopped since I got back home and took my medicines. I still need the rest though.

Hope everyone is able to accomplish what they set out to do today and that you're having an enjoyable day.

Who's next?

Here's something you don't want to hear your DH say"Ok, I'll tell you how to fix it but it could be dangerous."Sheesh! He's out of town at a training session and I had something go wrong in CL.Fixing it involved dealing with electrical things, not my strong point. He told me over the phone what to do and as I'm going down to work on it I'm trying to remember if I've done anything to make him mad at me lately. You never know....Anyway I think I fixed it but won't know for sure til tonight. The vents wouldn't open but I finally got them to. Now I have to make sure they close.I've gotten alot of odd and ends done today but don't feel like I've really accomplished much.My workout was a walk with my sister.I'm hoping to do weights later and maybe a short run.Thinking about taking my kiddo out for supper.I think he's past that"I can't be seen in public with my mother " stage.Surely if there is food involved he'll agree.

Rhonda, that pain you mentioned doesn't sound good.If that continues you will check back with your dr right?I know; nag, nag.Rest and take care.

You're braver than I am! I don't like messing with electricity. Hope you were able to solve your problem safely.

That pain kind of worried me a bit too. I haven't made it to bed yet, but I have been just sitting in the chair. Somehow I got sidetracked. ;-)

Rhonda I really hope you start feeling better soon. Are you scheduled with a follow up with this dr?

The day has progressed along nicely. Work became a bit chaotic towards the 5PM whistle but I survived and lived to tell all! Tutoring was cancelled for the evening and after a lovely post dinner walk I pulled out my Walk It Slim Tape. I enjoy this tape if for nothing else it shows all the moves on 3 different levels. A lot of it I stick to the Level 1 moves simply because of coordination problems but some of them I just find too hard on my knees so I stay away from them but I'm sufficiently sweaty to attract bugs but keep family members away! I survived the DD (Dunkin Donuts) being in the office-so much easier to behave when there's no junk food in the office. So I'm now getting ready to lay claim to the shower (maybe if I get close enough to one of them they'll offer to start the water)! A few other odds and ends around here I should do but may just decide to ditch it all!

Hope you've all enjoyed a great day!

I'm icing the fat digit as we speak. DH and I took our walk tonight - he's somehow averse to the 4-mile route, but we made it 3, and he promised me a 4-miler on the Monday holiday. Hmmm. We'll see. Going to do some tricep kickbacks and bicep curls without hand weights later on, and I'll really be concentrating on contracting the muscles since I'll be unweighted.

The rest of the leftovers for dinner tonight. Oh, no! That means I could end up cooking tomorrow night if I can't get up a good whine so I'll get to go out tomorrow evening. Time to start planning the menu for the rainout - er, cookout - Sunday. I'm going to make the American Flag cake for dessert along with a fruit salad, and I might have marinated kebab fixins set out so everyone can pick their own combos; I figure the kids will enjoy choosing and skewering their own meals. I might marinate chicken and boneless salmon steaks like I did for one of my previous rainouts, and everyone enjoyed those. We'll firm everything up so we can make a Costco run Friday evening for the appropriate selections.

Rhonda, more rest is in order. And if that pain persists, please call the dr back. Wish Rob fun on his beach trip!

Thanks, Susan. The dr. didn't schedule me for a follow-up, but told me to call if I had any problems. I still have several days worth of medicine to take.

I did my hair a new color tonight that's a little darker blonde to get rid of my roots and

Evening ladies, I am home. Made dinner and only Katie and I ate it. Left things on the table and stove but they were still there when I got home, go figure. Bill did meet me there around 8:15 and he stayed until 9. Said his hellos and byes and out he flew. Went home to relieve the sitter and get Katie into bed. I asked Maria if she was interested in getting some coffee and she was delighted. As it turns out her sisters all went home, Maria's hubby took the car and went back to her parents house and I drove my 2 friends and Maria's mom to Starbucks and we sat on the couches and had some fancy coffee and tea. We stayed until 11:00, closed the place down. Dropped them home and told them we would see them tomorrow at the church. I could tell Maria's mom really enjoyed it. She lives just up the street from my parents and I can feel I will be stopping by from time to time to visit and check up on her. She really enjoys our company and said how much she misses those days when we were kids. Her comments on how we are back together and close friends is so sweet and special and she is correct. Glad I went tonight and did the late night coffee trip, well worth it. Took their minds off the saddness for a little while. Well the morning will be here early and I am sure it will be a stressful day.

Your advice to follow my heart is right on target and I will call the other attorney on Thursday when this calms down and let him know of my choice. I am looking forward to the new challenges within the office.

Love to you all, and thanks!

I can tell how much you enjoyed your evening and that you feel good about it. You should. I had a feeling if you just went with what you felt was right you'd be fine. Bet the same thing will happen with your job.

I gotta' tell you when I first read the beginning of your post, my first visual was of you putting icing (frosting) on your finger. Only lasted a second and gave me one of those "Huh??" moments. I hope your "iced" finger is less colorful and more svelte since earlier today. Good work with your exercising. Wish you lived closer to help motivate me!

Your fixin's for the rainout sound really good. I haven't thought far enough ahead as to what we'll have this year. My 13-yr. old niece is going to be in England, Germany, and France with her former nanny/Godmother (No way, I'd let Rob go with all that's going over there, including an attempted hijack from Munich today!) and Rob will still be at the condo, making our ranks a bit smaller and less lively. Maybe you will get lucky this year and not have rain. We can all keep our fingers crossed.

Believe me, if I still have problems when I've finished the meds, I'll definitely get back with the dr. I just started the antibiotics and inhaler

"Icing" on my finger? Yup, been known to to that, too, along with PB, whipped cream, brownie batter, cream cheese frosting for carrot cake, and Nutella!

The weatherfolks must be doing rain-repellent dances, 'cuz today's forecast for Sunday looks lovely. Here's hoping. We're going to run to the party store after work and get red-white-blue themed things to decorate with. We can save whatever we don't use for next year's Patriots' Super Bowl Win....

You can tell I've done that too, since it was my first thought. LOL!
