I should know better than to.....

...pop in and not let y'all know what's been up with me! I'll try and keep it short. :)

I am still a postbode, or mail carrier, and will be until the end of December. My contract there ends then and I don't know what will happen then but I will worry about that when it gets here. No more dog problems although there are a lot of barking dogs on the route, thankfully all behind closed doors or on a leash with their owner.

I am still in The Netherlands, Revanna, although not real close to Amsterdam. :(

I never did submit my story to a magazine for lots of reasons but I do plan on putting together a website someday. When I do that I will be sure to let you all know where to find it.

I've kept up well with the exercise (did three marathon walks this summer -- 32k, 50k, 42k) but some of the weight has creeped back on. I fell back into some seriously bad habits and am now working on those. Had a loooong talk with DH on June 13 and he's helping out; so far it's working! Been since June 14 (2 weeks) chocolate free. Have had 2 pieces of dessert (one on Father's Day and one on our 5th wedding anniversay last weekend) but that's it sugar-wise. I am being super strict with myself as I am bound and determined to get to goal! Then when I get to goal (hopefully by Christmas) I will try and relax a bit and go back to seeing if I can have a piece of chocolate now and then or some kind of sweet.

Some of you might remember that I used to be able to have some dark chocolate every night. Can't do that anymore as I was starting to eat half the candybar!! Then it was the whole thing!! So I had to get honest with myself. I can't even keep it in the house, along with lots of other foods I used to be able to enjoy in moderation (peanut butter!). No more sugary yogurt or custard. Not even any fake sugar -- if I am not going to eat real sugar I sure am not going to eat the fake stuff. Been eating no/low salt, balanced carbs/protein/fat meals. Even DH has gotten into it! He's stopped eating margarine and trying sandwiches with all natural fruit jams or cheese. He's back to his normal weight (he gained a couple of kilos while in the US a year ago and hasn't been able to get it off).

Ahhh I said I'd keep this short LOL I do plan on putting together a website and will let you know when I do.

I'll pop in now and then and see what y'all are up to. Have a good day, everyone, MAKE IT COUNT! Get out there and shake that tushie!

Forgot to mention the animals! Sasha, the Dutch Chow Chow, and Chevy, The Famous American Cat, are getting along waaaaay better than when we first got Sasha. Chevy isn't afraid to put Sasha in her place and tell her to back off (which she does most of the time). They've even had moments where they stood nose-to-nose and sniffed each other. So much better than 2 years ago when Chevy wouldn't even come into the backyard if Sasha was there. I can't imagine that they will ever be buds and cuddle up together but at least we are all living in some sort of harmony now.

So good to hear you're doing well and that Sasha is being at least tolerated by the cat.

Happy to hear that things are going so well for you, that you're exercising so well and keeping the eating in check. I totally sympathize about not being able to eat just a little bit of a treat. I seem to be an all or nothing type person in that area, almost like an addiction.

If you happen to be in the Asheville, NC, area in mid-October, we are FINALLY getting together after talking and dreaming about it for a few years. The more the merrier! Can't wait. I think we have 10 or 11 of us going.

Keep in touch!
