Good morning!I really can't believe July is here and the holiday weekend.Hope those who have some extra time off enjoy their time. What plans do you have for today? For the weekend? Are you taking time to enjoy the summer?I was happy to see how many are enjoying good weather right now.
I was reading thru some of our challenges from the past.I have to say it was impressive seeing how many miles, hours, good eating days, etc we had.Reading it this morning really motivated me.Also yesterday I finally had a good eating day. What a difference it made.Got me in a positive frame of mind and has me ready to keep it up.
Fitness plans?Menus for today?Relaxing, having fun, what are you up to?
Hope you have a wonderful day!!!

Usually lunch with my sisters is a blast but yesterday it was exhausting. They both felt the need to point out my toenail polish clashed with my sandals. And that was only the beginning. They worked their way up from there!Don't you love how open and honest sisters feel they can be. LOL I think today I'll just plan on a quiet day with the chickens.

I really can't believe that the 4th of July weekend is here already. I still can't get over that somehow June is over. Weren't we just talking about what our plans were for the Memorial Day Weekend? Where does the time go? I guess that's part of the way I'm feeling is that time goes by so quickly---what's the sense of taking that precious time and spend it worrying about things that you have no control over!
No plans for the weekend. I just finished reading an article in the paper about the number of cars and people on Long Island plus add on cars and people in NYC and how difficult traveling becomes going from here to there. There are firework displays throughout LI but to get there is not an easy task. Sometimes my desire to leave the hectic pace of LI is in the forefront of my brain. Younger DD is leaving this morning for MA and I think I've convinced her to leave a little earlier to try to beat the exodous that will surely develop throughout the day. Other kids will be coming and going through the weekend. Today will probably be a trip to the grocery store to stock up for the upcoming week and DD and I will probably make a trip to the nail salon-her to have her toes done and me for nails and piggies-Patty,I will definitely have to consult with my fashion expert so that my toes don't clash with my sandals! Othan than that not much on my agenda. I do plan on some sort of workout, think I'll finish my coffee first and then decide and I guess I really will have to contemplate the laundry that has been sitting here unattended to! Hope the eating goes a little better today-a bag of Tostidos attacked me last night and somehow forced themselves into my mouth! Bad Tositdos!!!
Hope the day goes well for you! If you're like me and enjoying some extra time off-go out there and seize the day! If you're working hope the day is a pleasant one and if you have the opportunity to just enjoy the day hope it's a great one!

Awoke with a start to a whopper of a thunder/lightning/rain/wind storm at 4 am. Went galloping around the house closing windows and mopping up wet windowsills and damp floors. When it all settled down, DH and I fell back to sleep and missed 3 alarm clocks. What a way to start the day.
Planning on a light day here today. Sounds really quiet, so there must be a lot of people starting the long weekend early. Here's hoping!
Workout tonight is a run through Costco for cookout food. I hope everyone else has already done their shopping, because I've never been in Costco just before a holiday. I'm still not sure exactly what the main courses will be, but it'll be interesting for grownups and kids. I'm hoping I can chop the food that the food processor would turn to mush (like the cucumber for gazpacho that I'm dying for). The technicolor thumb has faded to jaundice yellow, and the swelling is now confined to the thumb/hand joint, but it hurts - a lot. I'll be icing it down and taking more Advil today than I have been.
Nice Italian lunch planned with my two friends from work. Good way to wind down what has been a lousy couple of weeks at work.
Have a great day!

Good Friday Morning Everyone,
It's so nice to get online without being bumped off. It's been very wet here and many of us are having problems with our phone lines.

Hurray for the hot weather! Happy to hear you're getting the sun and Vitamin D!
It's strange how the people who love us are often the most critical. I know, as a mother, I catch myself doing that because I want only the best for my children and other people I love. Sometimes I have to remind myself to back off and let them deal with it or that some things really just aren't important enough that they can be left unsaid.
Enjoy your day with the nonjudgemental chickens. ;-)
