I was reading something today on positive thoughts and motivational tapes. One person said they didn't think a positive mindset was that effective because it just doesn't last.Another person replied that a bath doesn't last either and that's why we do it on a daily basis.Thought that was cute and something to think about.

Gots to agree with that! Also, being negative is just so much easier for some reason. We are out of practice at being positive. We are quick to send back a plate of food we don't like but how often have we ever thanked the chef PERSONALY for a meal well done? Or you complain that you got the wrong mail one day but how often have you ever thanked your mailman/woman for bringing you the RIGHT mail all those other days through rain and sleet and snow and dark of night!??!? hmmm?????? :)

So true! Like so many good things that aren't easy, it needs to be constantly reinforced.

I was telling Rob the other day when we came upon a guard at a gated community that wasn't particularly "perky" that when you encounter someone, particularly if they seem to be down or kind of crabby, if you give them a smile and go out of your way to be especially pleasant and appreciative, it can often help snap them out of it to realize they're appreciated

I hit the wrong icon. Should have been the thumbs up.

You are so right! And why is it that when we look in a mirror we also notice our flaws first, not our good points?
