Good morning fitness friends-

Every time I think that the week has gone by fast it means that the years are going by fast too.

Poor on the passion....love that quote, Phyllis.

I have had an awesome week, filled with so much good stuff.I have really been struggling with migraines the last few weeks. The migraines last 2 days then I have a rebound day from the medicines. So hard to keep going when it's like that especially when they come ever 4 days or so.Wed. night one came on and I tried something different with my medicines and so far no reocurrance and no rebound problems.Just a smidge of a normal headache today.Fingers crossed that I'm on to something. So along with that and other good things this week I'm feeling especially happy and grateful today.

Not sure about a workout today, it will depend on the birds and my head.May pull back today to make sure I don't press my luck, we'll see.Hopefully at least some UB work and maybe a short workout tape.Although a run is callin me.....

It's suppose to be a beautiful day here with hammock written all over it.Hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning and it does seem to be a very TGIF. The sun is shining and the birds are signing. I've definitely had a good eating week, I've been able to push the pickies and overload of sugar aside and feeling very good about it. Nothing much shakin' in this neck of the woods. Taking the night off from the afterwork mad dash to the grocery store and I do believe that DH will be escorting me to a restaurant this evening and I do believe the family has a cake in store for me to celebrate my entrance into my 51st year. Taking the night off from exercise too but I'll be ready to start fresh tomorrow. The start of my 50's has certainly been filled with some bumps in the road but the past month or so I've been making some good inroads into what is important in life so as I begin a new year for me and I face new challenges I really hope that I've been preparing and will continue to prepare to meet them head on and with a positive mind set. I guess when you've been up since 2AM the mind can tend to get very philosophical!

Hope you all have a happy TGIF!

Count me as having had a good week starting Tuesday. (Monday was mediocre, though I didn't have any sweets.) I've cut out sweets, fatty snacks, and beer/wine/G&Ts, and I'm eating much healthier breakfasts. Exercise: did a workout Wed, Thur, and ran 2.5 miles this morning with abs to follow when I get off the computer. I was *really* tired yesterday, so it was something that I stayed the course; I'm a bit worn out today too - AF is just around the corner. If we head to the beach tomorrow, I probably won't get a workout in then, but I'll plan for Sunday to do one. That'll give me 4 workouts this week, which is my goal.

Phyllis, interesting ramblings in your second post. It was similar thoughts that made me wonder a few weeks ago if my goals were realistic. I've not been a daily slave to the scales for a while, preferring 2 week intervals instead. True, I'm not happy with my measurements right now, and that's what kick started me this week. While I try to have workout goals, overall I don't get depressed if I don't make it a week, because I know I can get back into it (not saying I don't have my days!). I think the downside of not doing *some* kind of monitoring and goal-setting is that if we don't, we could very well slip back into our old body uniform, the one we had before choosing health. Might not be a big deal for 5 years, but it could be in 10. Having said that, it's easy to go from "monitoring" to "obsessing"! I think we all cross that, some more than others.

TGI Happy Friday!

It looks like a good day here today, maybe not too humid to walk at noon.

It's been a good week. I got in my exercise as planned. My eating has mostly been okay; I ran into a wall of pizza last evening, but I'm not crying over it. My thumb is getting back to normal with a little hurting still. I'm working with two very sane people for a change - a real pleasure to work with people who have a sense of humor. Finally, I haven't done anything I know of to incur the scorn that the BG in the CO reserves for the "little people" - oh, wait, I exist; that's reason enough!

Fun plans for the weekend? Dinner tonight at a Turkish restaurant in suburban Boston, which used to be a dining wasteland of chain restaurants and pizza/grinder joints, but is becoming a really interesting alternative to driving into the city for different and delicious tastes. My walking buddy coworker and her fiance are ethnic-food fans, so they're joining us. I'm getting my hair cut Saturday at high noon - no changes, just a cleanup, since the humidity and high breezes around here are making it difficult to control at this length, which isn't even the longest it's ever been. Depending on the weather and how long the appointment takes and how itchy I feel after, DH and I may head out on the road to points unidentified at present. I don't know about Sunday yet. Again, it depends on the weather. I'm looking for an excuse to stay close to home - there's some serious weeding out front that needs doing, some poison ivy too close to the house out back that needs a few blasts of Roundup, and some gray hair atop my head that desperately needs camouflage!

15 squats, huh? I'll give it a shot. I'm sure no one here has ever used his or her assigned work station/cube as a gym before!

Have a great Friday!

Here's a big hug to you, Nancy. It's comforting to know that you can get sympathy, understanding, and a gentle shove back onto the wagon here when you need it. Have a wonderful weekend - the Hills sound gorgeous!

Loved this post, Nancy!!! I, too, don't always get the "workouts" in, but then again, both you and I put alot of miles in with our work at home and on the job. I know I put in more steps at Steinmart than I ever did at Dillards and that was alot!

Hey, have fun on your trip to the Black Hills! Maybe you will have some pictures you can share?

Hi, Phyllis and everyone! The highlight of my week had to be the fact that ds' All Stars baseball team is going to the state tournament. Today, I'm dropping ds and his friend off with one of the parents who will be transporting them up to Dallas. The boys will camp out in an RV at a nice park w/pool. Of course, ds is excited to be away from his parents! I will drive up there Sunday (if they are still in the tournament, that is) since I have a day off.

This a.m. I got a powerwalk done - that is super for me because I twisted my ankle running last week. I'll never learn!!! I miss running so much & when I hit the trails, I naturally begin to run!

Have a great weekend, lovely gals!
