I was talking with someone at Jazz class the other day and we got around to the topic of when we like to go to class best.

Great question!I think midmorning is my favorite time to work out.I get the work that absolutely has to be done in CL out of the way, come out for a run and go back to work.If it's suppose to be really hot I may come out alittle earlier to do my run.I like mornings because it's more likely to get done.Having said that though I didn't get my workout in til 4 today and one night last week it was 9 before I got done. For me the time changes with work schedules and with the weather.Fall is great for midmorning or afternoons.I love going to the track for a run on beautiful fall afternoons.

Can't answer if it changes as you get older :)

In a perfect world....I wouldn't have to go to work until around 0900 and I would start my workout around 0600 or 0630.

Well, I like to walk at around 7pm - it's a great release from a day with small kids. I've never liked exercising early. However, my regular Pilates class is at 8:40pm and, while I enjoy it, I find it hard to wind down afterwards and always get to bed around midnight (late for me, as the kids are up at six).

I've always been a first thing in the morning person but had been struggling with the getting up early. By the time I would drag myself out of bed I found myself clock watching so that I had time to get myself ready for work and things done around here before heading out the door. If I wasn't working I would definitely like a little later start. I've since been trying to get into an evening workout. Some days are just easier than others to accomplish. I have my perfect time but work just gets in the way! For right now evenings seem to be working out better

I've made evening my best time. I can't get up any earlier than I do to work out - I'd rather have a healthy breakfast sitting down as opposed to standing over the sink.

My best workout time - 7 pm, although I have no problem with exercising as late at 10 pm. It does not refresh me at all; after a shower, I find I drop off to sleep a lot faster than I do on evenings without a workout.

Hi, Lori!

My ideal time was early in the morning.

Mornings hang on me getting off the computer before we have to go somewhere. Lately, that's not happened! I'm not a crack-of-dawn person, either, and lately it's been too miserable in the mornings to run. So I usually end up doing my workout in the evening, though if I'm tired, I'm more likely to beg out. It's a nice way to wind down the day and get some "Mom" time in. Preference, morning. Reality, evening. How's that for ambiguous?

Obviously, my best time for workouts during the week is early a.m. since I work from 8:30 a.m. until after 9 p.m. However, I like to work out mid-morning on the weekends. I am comfortable on the trails during the summer since we have an abundance of shade from trees. My energy level at night is next to nil.
