It's hard to think of superlative descriptions of a day which begin with "W", yanno? But I was thinking about what each of us might be willing to do today. Not just for ourselves, even though we all need time to recharge during the day, but also for others. Will today include a workout or doing something that you've been putting off? That's for you. Will you be getting together with a friend and doing something for him or her? That's doing for others. Any obstacle you're up against and the final battle is drawing near? That could be for both you and others! When we reach out to those around us, we make someone's day brighter, and in return we receive a kind of humble happiness, not to boast about it, but to reflect that maybe this world isn't so overwhelming afterall. When we remember the Supreme Example of kindness and gentleness that has been put before us, we've got the best role model ever.

Great post, Linda! I'd love to get together with a friend today! I miss my son terribly, so today would be a great day to get together with friends. When I work out tonight, I will be thinking of you all since I can't be with you.

Speaking of battles, I am reading a great book, "Be Anxious for Nothing", by Joyce Meyer. It's about casting our cares and resting in God.

Good Morning,

Yup it's Wednesday even though my mind is telling me it's Thursday. More likely than not I'm anxious to have the day behind me. I'm going in for this biopsy this morning and I'll admit I'm a bit nervous about this test. Everything thus far has been non invasive and this is anything but. I'm going into work this morning and then headed to the doctors office and then home. I really don't think there will be much of anything else on the agenda for today. The sheetrock guys will be finishing up this morning and I may come home to find guys ripping off our aluminum siding-the supplies are here just waiting for them to show up. The weather is suffering from a serious case of ick. Muggy damp and just generally not very nice.

Hope you all have a great day!

Got a little of everything going on today! Al and I are meeting up with a friend and her two kids to go see one of the free kids' matinees they're showing this summer, "Spirit". This is only Allison's second visit to a theater, and my friend's son, who is also 5, is going to a movie theater for the first time. Both her son and Allison were on the sensitive side as tots - crying over the oddest things (like when Allison wailed over a some characters on a kid's show wearing Groucho Marx glasses, nose and moustache) - and they've just started getting to the point where they can process movie plots with thrills in them. I don't know if we'll do lunch afterwards or not.

Later on today, the county assessor's office. Wish me luck on getting our tax appraisal down. Last time I challenged our property taxes, the assessor I dealt with was ecstatic that I kept my appointment. Apparently, a lot of people pitch and whine about their assessment and sign up to challenge, but don't follow through. I know I'll get the square footage knocked down, because it's simply wrong on their records.

Workout - some kind of cardio. I woke up and laid awake for an hour last night, dashing any half-baked plans I had about getting up and running this morning. It's too hot and muggy to run at any other time if I don't get up with the Cus and go then. Still, I'm trying to run at least once a week to keep my running stamina up for when the weather does start getting tolerable again. I've got the Governor's Cup to run again, and this year, I'd like to keep running in the winter for the Cooper River Run in Charleston - that's a 10K run, where the races I've been in thus far have been 8K.

I'll be thinking about you today Susan and keeping you in my prayers for an easy time with the biopsy and for guidance for the Dr's and nurses doing the tests and reading them.

Are your phone #'s the same as they were in our FOF directory Phyllis emailed each of us last year, Margie? If so, I will try to call you tomorrow if I leave for Grand Prairie after 5 p.m., but I will have to rush up there to be able to catch his game(s) (if they still win & are in the tournament, that is). Is there someplace close to Grand Prairie where we could meet? I'd have to drive back to Longview tomorrow night at least by 11:30 or so to be able to get up and go to work Friday morning. I hate that I can't take a vacation day, but my coworker is on vacation this week. Anyway, I have already paid for my plane ticket to fly out to New Jersey this October, so I have basically used up all but a couple of days of vacation this year.

But I'd LOVE to meet you if at all possible, Margie! My work # is 800-600-2865 if you want to call me, and my email address is: katsonnet@aol.com

Good luck with the biopsy today. Take it easy afterwards, just for a day or two.
