Good morning everyone!Hope everyone is doing well today. Can you believe we are halfway thru another month?

What's on your schedule for today?Another busy day at work?Time for a workout?Something fun planned for today?

What's on your thankful list today? As much as I joke about looking for excitement there is something to be said for the same routine that you can count on.Coming to the board and reading everyone's thankfuls is something I look forward to.Puts it all in perspective.

Donna, hope work eases up some.Phyllis, hope you have a safe trip and a wonderful time.Booty, how are you feeling?Susan, after your day yesterday I hope you have a blissfully quiet day today.Rhonda, hope you're closer to getting that computer fixed.Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Hi, all!

Just finishing my lunch/snack salad. What a week. Let me say simply that after getting in by 7 every day and getting home at nearly midnight two nights in a row, I'm thankful this week is just about OVER. I know we shouldn't wish time away, but sometimes you just can't help it. One more day to go, and then it's playtime. Or sleeptime. Note to Kat - I don't know how you do what you do practically every day! You must have super powers or something.

No big plans, except to recover and get back to my workouts. I feel like The Blob. No, my thighs haven't sunk to my knees yet, but you know the feeling when you've ignored exercising for a while. Time to get back to it. And healthy eating and H2O drinking. Eating wasn't terrible, but I missed too many dinners this week; the scale has held firm. And my water intake has been horrible. I have to remind myself that no job is worth losing a kidney over.

Anyway, time to starting shutting down for the day. Hope to have a good workout to report on later. Take care!

Donna

Way to go on getting up and getting that run in!Do you notice any difference if you eat before a run or not?Just curious because I'm always trying to find just the right breakfast to take me thru a run but not weigh me down.Glad to hear your dh got much deserved recognition.Something tells me he gets alot of support from you and that I'm sure means everything to him.

When I run on weekdays, I just have about 6 ounces of water before heading out the door - that's all I've got time for. If I ate breakfast then ran, I'd get all this sloshing around... and I hate that! (That happened with my abs routine this morning after drinking coffee.) On weekends, I'll eat an hour or so beforehand. Normally, weekend breakfasts are indulgent - er, like, donuts! - though I'm doing more muffins these days. But before my last race I had a sausage & egg biscuit made with a reduced fat biscuit, veggie patty and egg substitute (we call that combo Egg McMeerkats around here - my older user handle on local bulletin boards was Meerkat), plus a plain biscuit. I had that almost 2 hours before running, and it was a perfect blend of protein and carbs, with enough time to get digestion underway. A moderate serving of pancakes does well by me too. What have you found that works?

Margie, we've had so much humidity lately.A storm came thru and what a difference.Today it's warm but it almost makes you think of an early fall day.I'm with you on the job thing. No real time off again and I'm getting so tired of it.But keep reminding myself that a bunch of turkey growers just lost their contracts so I'm am thankful to have my work. Some days it just takes me longer to remember that :)

I love reading your posts about your family.I think your children are so lucky to have you and dh as their parents. And Brock hit the grandma jackpot!

I was at the track today and a guy was running really fast.Told him I wished I could maintain that speed. He laughed and said it was his 'Last lap" speed only.I listened to my Anthony Robbins cd today; guess what he talked about. How Kentucky Fried Chicken was started!LOL It spoke to me.

So do you have your snacks planned for your trip ;)

Like you , it varies with when I do my workout. The other day whole wheat toast and an egg did well.I ate that, worked in CL an hour or so and then ran.I'm not big on breakfast and was grabbing slimfast bars because they are so easy. But I think they were making me crave more sugar, not sure.

Pancakes, yum. Chocolate chip are my favorite. What a health nut, huh?
