DS and Team off to World Series!

Well, they did it! DS and team are the Texas team to go to the World Series (14 yr. olds) in LaGrange, GA. They have to play Alabama on July 31 at 4 p.m. So they have about a week to practice up. Gosh, I may have to do without my baby for over a week! Wish I could take 3 weeks of vacation a year & I would go with him. But I really need to visit my mom in Oct., so I won't get to go with ds. I'm sure he'll have a better time without me, anyway. I was told ds hit a double, scored a run & hit a single. I'm sure they are so excited!

Woo-hoo! Congrats to him and his team! LaGrange. Gosh, that used to be right at an hour from where I used to live, in great driving distance.

Best of luck to them!

Thanks, Tweety & Cussette! I spoke to ds on the phone late last night & he's so excited that he's going fishing today with his dad (who was able to get up there to watch both games). So I don't get to see him 'till late tonite. Boys!

Congratulations to Danny and his team, and to him for such a strong offensive game! This has to be so exciting for them. I remember last year, when the Little League team from north of Boston (Saugus, MA) went all the way to the LL World Series. The 12-year-old grandson of one of the men I work with was a star on the team, and grandpa and the rest of the family took off to be with the team for the last week of the Series. It was storybook time for them.

Strangely enough, ESPN was running a contest for the most exciting game of 2003 - and the Saugus Little League game before the final was among the three candidates. One of the others was the Super Bowl, and I can't remember the third. But imagine that? A bunch of kids playing for the love of the game against the pros? Pretty amazing.

I hope Danny enjoys his "vacation", Kat. Don't miss him too much!

Huggss,
