Good mood lifting post Nancy! Busy morning around here before work. Boss man is on vacation this week so it could make the week crazy or very slow! Weather is that yucky could rain at any time humid nasty stuff. But I was glad to see the siding guys here in spite of it. It will be nice to have this project done.
Workout planned is the treadmill and weights-but of course it is only 8:15 AM and energy level at this moment is different than at 7:30 PM!
Nancy, what a fantastic post!Thank you so much for giving my day just the start it needed.I was feeling whiney and tired but you are so right about making the choice to make the day great.
I just jumped off my treadmill.I worked til midnight last night. Have birds leaving today and some coming back Friday. If I want any time to play at all I have to work at night and odd hours during the day.So think today I'm heading across the mountain to meet with Mom and Dad for lunch.Think I'll browse thru a few stores and play a bit. Then I'll head home and work this afternoon and tonight.
Anyone else starting to think about Fall?Saturday night it felt like a fall evening here.Felt nice but I don't mind that it's heading back to 90 this week.Sybil lives ;)
Need to do some LB work later and may get my slide out and do that some too.I'm thinking my workout is heading for a slump and needs a change to perk it up. Course I'm also thinking a new workout outfit would help too....
Have a wonderful day gang?Hey did you see the news story where the guy shot himself in the groin?????Or how about the story where the man was drunk and wanted to go see some woman. He couldn't get thru the gate so he took off his clothes thinking that would help.He got stuck and police found him there the next morning.Sheesh and they wonder where we come up with the men jokes!!!!!
Nancy, I'm going to try to live today in the spirit of your post - but a day without a whine is like, well, really abnormal, so here goes. Just when I thought I was going to get back to serious workouts after the thumb booboo, my lower back/top of the butt has kicked up again. Man! Hoping it will pass quickly without aid of muscle relaxants; also hoping this doesn't mean the end of long car trips. Sitting is ok, and standing is ok, as long as I'm positioned properly; it's the getting up and down that hurts!
OK. Whine over. I'm still going to try to accomplish a walk on the treadmill and some UB weights - I'll cut back to the 6-lb hand weights and see how it feels; I'll also cut back the weight machine so I won't be arching my back - I'm conscious of that when I start and correct it quickly, but I'm not going to push and cause my self further aches.
Eating is back on track. Sunday was good - not a hot fudge sundae in sight - with lots of veggies and a delish low-fat fruit smoothie with melon, peach yogurt, and pineapple. Roasted chicken (yup, DH requested it, so we turned on the oven in humid, 83+ degree weather), steamed broccoli, and red-bean-and-rice mix for DH for dinner. Dinner tonight? Another steamy day, with rain thrown in for fun, so I think fish on the Foreman could be it.
Anticipating minor chaos at work, so the stress level will be less than it's been. I'm beginning to hate deadlines; so much so that I've become passive-aggressive about making decisions in non-work related areas - that needs to stop!
Great to read this on a Monday morning, Nancy! I'm a bit sore from doing Jennifer Kries' Precision Pilates (2 of the 3 routines) last night, so I must've done something right. While it's challenging since I'm not used to the moves, I'm surprised at the detail I actually picked up on - which is why my thighs and glutes are a bit tight this morning!
This morning I've got a friend coming over with her two boys, and we're going to hit the pool. Afterwards, we'll come back here for lunch, so I want to clean the bathrooms - kitchen is actually under control, LOL! Beyond that, just a few minor tasks I want to tackle today. Later on, I'd like to do my Body Sculpt tape, which will make it 3 days in a row that I've exercised (Sat-Mon). I skipped days last week, but still managed to get in 4 days of workouts of some sort.

Thanks for your uplifting post this a.m., Nancy! I woke up late this a.m., but this has cheered me up immensely.
Thanks for the congratulations for the baseball team, ladies! I'm sure the boys are excited to be going to the Dixie World Series (this only covers southern states, so it's not that huge of a deal, but it's an honor to get to go). A couple of years ago, our Longview team won the World Series (same age group) & that was exciting for them. I will probably be baking cookies & sending other food out there with the boys. I bet they have to charter a bus. I need to go out to buy some more copies of the Longview News with the picture & article so I can send one to my mom. They didn't put everything in the article that ds did, but that's ok. As I posted before, he sat on the bench most of the time. Yet, he's very excited.
I'm going for a good eating day today. How about you all? Rhonda mentioned a salad from Arby's I am going to have to go try. I don't have time for a workout unless I have boundless energy after 9 pm tonight! I should do my Firm Body Sculpt! I'm going to try to work that in, yes! :o)
Not whining about the weather????I'm going to need some time to get my head around that concept!!LOL Has anyone noticed how much better I've been about that lately?Of course that could, in part, be due to the fact that the weather has pretty much been just the way I like it :)
Really glad you got to be with Johnny.Retirement, huh?Did I tell you all the bombshell DH dropped about retirement the other week?Appparently he feels we're not going to retire because "WE love what we do too much and what the heck would WE do if we retired".I can only assume "we" is him and his second wife!
LOL!!! You mean your dh doesn't wish to be the cabana boy on your retirement island? I can't imagine what is wrong with that man? You better tell him George has dibs on that job if he doesn't want it.
This is my kind of weather, too, so it's easy for me not to whine. I read Phyllis' post to our favorite Aunt this a.m. so she'll stay in line. So far, I've done decent with the food today - a really neat salad someone at our Board of Directors gave me as she had gum surgery & couldn't eat it. The salad had chicken, feta cheese, strawberries, and all kinds of greens like dandelion, etc. & a wonderful tangy dressing (kind of rasperry vinaigerette) for lunch. My coworker gave me part of her spaghetti from lunch & I'll eat the rest of that salad, so I have supper waiting in our fridge to heat up! Isn't that funny that the two things I planned to eat today "magically" appeared from other people. Gee, it's nice to have such an inexpensively healthy eating day!
