I've been doing pretty good since I found this site except today. I had Chinese Buffet with Angela, my oldest DD, she's the one with 4 kids and recently found out she's pregnant. DH and I had some erronds to run after work so we picked up some pre-cooked food from the grocery store. He got 2 fried chicken breast, fried potate wedges, and green beans. I had smoked sausage, mashed potatoes w/gravy on side (thanks for the suggestion), and green beans, I gave him the gravy. I thought the smoked sausage would be less fattening but as he pointed out I was wrong.

Now I'm so full I don't even know if I can get a walk in this evening, a bicycle ride is doubtful. I did atleast get a 15 minute walk this moring on my am break. It's to hot here to walk in the afternoon. I envy those of you that go for a run in the mornings, do pilates, weights, target training and all the other types of exercise ya'al do. I have 5 aerobics videos and hardly do any of them. Hopefully I'll get motivated soon and "just do it" (something I read in a post earlier about a chicken).

Hope everyone has a great evening and a "Wonderful Wednesday". I'm already feeling guilty about sitting here watching TV and typing. I wonder how many calories typing burns up. (ROTFL)

We all have those days. I had a couple of those days over the weekend. I tend to be able to regiment myself during the week while I'm at work since I bring healthy snacks with me although I certainly can go astray when somebody brings in the not so healthy munchies. Too many opportunites when I'm home on the weekend to dip into whatever is around! Don't despair tomorrow is another day!

Just curious but what type of bike does your DH own? My DH has a 73 Harley Sportster and we enjoyed our riding days although they pretty much ended when we started a family.

Have a good evening!

I hate exercising in the heat of the day, too! If I can wake up, that is, early a.m. is most comfortable.

Don't feel bad about your dinner - it sounds yummy. I can't believe the delicious dinner I just had (shrimp etoufee) was only 250 calories!! It was a frozen single serving & filled me right up! I will have to stock up on them.

Betty, what are the exercise videos that you have?

Betty we all eat like that from time to time. Obviously its not something we can do everyday. Eat smart today, and drink lots of water and start fresh today........because its a new day and a new start!

And how does this make you different from the rest of us? LOL! I tell ya, this happens every time I go to MIL's. I've recently said it that the woman's love language centers on food.

I've posted this before, and it's worth posting again.

Ever notice that when you go out to eat one night and decide to skip the "Healthy Choices" for something a more succulent, you end up gaining more than you expect the next day? It can be a downer - BTDT. I was looking at MIL's Mayo Clinic Family Health book for something else and ran across this. It explains what happens when one dessert or one big meal seems to undo all your efforts, and why you shouldn't let it get you down:

"If you binge in the form of a single big dessert generous in calories and carbs, you may well find your weight up 2 or 3 pounds the next day, mainly because of the increase in glycogen stores. This might lead you to the disheartening conclusion that a single meal or dessert can wipe out a week of dieting. Not so.

"If you return to your dietary program promptly, most, but not quite all, of that increase in weight will disappear during the next day or two. The weight loss will be behind schedule by the amount of calories in the big dessert, but it usually amounts to wiping out no more than a day or two of previous dieting."

Great news for our conscience!

Susan, my DH has a 2004 Honda VTX 1300, it looks and now sounds like a Harley. My ex had a Harley, we decide on the Honda for finacial reasons. Today a co-worker brought a birthday cake in and I had a piece, but I didn't eat lunch and for dinner I used a smaller plate with lots of carrots.

Katsonnett, the shrimp sounds yummy. I actually like a lot of the frozen dinners and used to take them to work for lunch. Now I started drinking a Boost energy instead.

Deb, thanks for the reminding me that I'm normal LOL. By the way, hows Katie? I haven't had a chance to check all the post yet to see if there's an update.

Cussette, you always seem to know just what to say. I have noticed about the weight change, mainly the gain but it does seem to come back off if I get back on track.

I did end up going for a 20 minute walk last night. I live in Texas and these 100+ degree days really bother me the older I get. I was raised in Ohio and really miss the weather.
