Looks like a good week for goals!

I measured this morning was pleased with the results. 3/4" off my waist, tummy trimmer by 1/2", hips also by 1/2", and even my thighs (just a tad, 1/4" at most). What was really surprising, though, was stepping on the scales. 5 pounds?! I thought that one pair of shorts I wore the other day fit me better than I expected. I'm pretty sure the first 2 pounds were water because they dropped quickly, and it was right after AF. I'd wondered a few months back that maybe my goals were unreasonable and that my weight plateau was at the point where those 2 pounds came off, but it looks like my menus just needed tweaking. This has come about from cutting out the sweets, fatty snacks and beer/gin & tonic, and doing healthier breakfasts and not stuffing on so many leftovers for lunch (dinners are already pretty good). I don't need to lose more, and don't want to - 2 more pounds would put me at pre-preggo weight... but that seems unhealthy to me. But I also fully intend to keep eating these better breakfasts, grooming my lunches (which still need help in balancing - this is where I get bored the easiest), and choosing better snacks throughout the day. Like Laura, it's now about figuring out how to maintain without regaining, or dropping too low. I decided I'd earned a glass of chocolate Ovaltine this morning, LOL! I'm going to enjoy my dinner tonight at the restaurant too.

One other thing that I've wanted to share was the official race picture from May 15th. This time I've ordered it - first, because DH opted to get a pic of me with the clock so it wasn't a close-up, and secondly... because I couldn't capture the large pic from the website - they've now got it guarded against snatchers like me, LOL! Anyway, here's the link... http://www.brightroom.com/view_user_event.asp?EVENTID=3895&PWD=&BIB=181 Click for a larger pic.

I should have read this before we went out to dinner for Mexican food and then went to Bennigans for "Death by Chocolate" dessert. I was doing so great since I started visiting this site. I had weighed myself before we left and had actually dropped 3 pounds. The dessert was because our best friend appeared like he really wanted something to do beside go home. It was a nice visit and the dessert definately earned it's name. DH and best friend have been telling me about it for months now, so I guess since this is the first time I actually had it isn't to bad. Unfortunately I'm to full and it's to late to go for a walk.

I've got a busy weekend coming up so hopefully those extra calories wont have a chance to stick around for long. I really appreciate all of you, thanks for the pep talks and all the helpful advice.
