Today was the last straw! I tried on 4 pairs of athletic shoes before I could find a pair that I could get through the sculpting class this morning. Last night was terrible with teaching the Kick boxing class...I got through it, but there was absolutely no jumping. I was in pain trying to grocery shop and it still hurts with my shoes off now. So...I made the call and I will be squeezed in Aug 25th. I can't believe I started all this Aug 22 of 2003.
I think I will give up all my classes now too. Going to try to retire again and just stay on sub lists. I will make those calls next week. One aerobic director does not want to let me retire, but she will do my classes for me when I need it. We will see. I am very mixed up with what to do. I also want to be there for my kids and I can't be with having scheduled classes. What to do, what to do!!!!
OK...needed to put that down on paper so to speak.
Have a good weekend and I will pop in to see how you are all doing.

Grace, sure hope the upcoming surgery does the trick. You've had to bear the recovery and complications for far too long.
I hope you will take a break. It may help your feet to heal better. Once they're 100%, you may decide you'd like to get back into the fitness classes more heavily again.
Hugs,

Hi, Linda...this surgery isn't actually for a recurring problem..it is something different. The bunion surgery was actually a "success" despite the set back with right foot. This neuroma was probably there the whole time and I just didn't realize it since the bunion hurt so much. If we did know it was there, it could have been removed when I had the bunionectomy. Since it is a soft tissue problem, it does not show up in xrays. Hopefully this will be the end of it and I will be "right as rain" for Oct.
Thank you for your concern. I will be strong and not let anyone sway me with what to do. It IS hard to get up early to teach those 8 am classes.

Thanks, Nancy! I do appreciate your response. Family is important and even if they are grown, kids, will always be your kids.

Thanks, Deb...it has been a long time for all of this. I am sure the board will be as happy as I will be as soon as this is all over.

My head sure can spin over all of this Patty. But, I will ponder it more and make the best decision. Sometimes it is taken out of our hands and with all that is going on with the family, it will probably work itself out.
Thanks

Thanks for the hugs, Rhonda. I am confident that will be the end of it all (for now) and I will be able to enjoy Asheville and get on with things. I don't think I will ever be able to give up the classes completely, and subbing will probably be best. I can still use the gyms and teach only the classes I want to.
