~~What Can Be Wednesday~~
| Wed, 08-04-2004 - 6:36am |
I read a line yesterday that reallly stayed with me.It said "no matter what you've done with what has been, you now have what can be".I really like that thought. And when you let your mind go and think about what can be without limiting yourself it's an incredible thought. It makes me think of Donna's statement of "reaching for the stars".
By the way , it is Wednesday right?I'm having a hard time keeping up with the days and dates. What is that a sign of???I know it can't possibly be age related!!!
So what's up for today?Any new workout plans? Is work going ok for everyone?Deb, how is Katie doing?Cussette, is AL getting excited about school?Rhonda, Rob heads back soon doesn't he?Donna, hope your DH had a very special birthday.
Have a wonderful wednesday!!!

Yesterday the plan was to workout at 11am, work in CL and then have lunch.Turned out workout was more like three and lunch was at four.New service guy showed up and was here 3 hrs!
Changing my haircolor today and hopefully straightening out the damage from the last cut.Getting rid of all the blonde and going back to brunette.Going to add a shimmer of golden highlights because the girl who does my hair doesn't think "someone" can handle going completely dark yet. There is some thought someone might whine about the change.Imagine that!I've asked that the new color clear my head and fix my thighs.I don't think that's expecting too much from a color job do you????Anyway getting hair done should be fun.She is doing another friends hair too. We're going to get together, probably have lunch and play what is our new theme song"Redneck Woman".Anyone heard it?Looks like another classy day in the country!

Happy BDay to Donna's DH.
Love your title this morning Patty! It is indeed Wednesday. The work week is going well and keeping up with the flow. It's still very warm around here and the muggies persist. I've had to change Otto's walk with my workout time since it's just too warm for him right after dinner and I know he doesn't enjoy his walk. We've been walking right around dusk when the air is a bit cooler and it's actually a very pleasant time of day for an evening stroll. I'm not sure what the workout du jour will be.
Phyllis-congratulations on your new clients!
Patty-enjoy the day with the girls! Hope the cut and color works out and if by the way it works magic on your thighs-please let us know!
Hope what can be Wednesday turns out to be wonderful!

Go for the new doo. My brassy red is finally lightning up and I'm likin' it again. Still not sure what the long term answer is, however. Maybe I'm destined to go natural and the heck with the color battle!
Hitting the treadmill this morning. It is VERY humid and hot here already this morning and I've got a bit of cold. The humidity is so stifling! So treadmill, abs and weights on the agenda. A quick trip to Walmart and then the office.
This has been a long summer. The kids are going crazy, driving me crazy. Today they have some chores to do and reading and working on their summer math packets that have to be turned in the first day of school (which starts in 36 days, but who's counting????). September 7 is the first day of school here. Starting to get ready for our annual beach trip to the Outer Banks. August 20. Got a house/dog sitter. Hope the storms stay far away from the coast.
Hugs.
Sassy :)
Good morning! Had an email waiting from a friend wanting to know if the lead Letter to the Editor was any relation to me. It was my mom's, and a good one if I do say so myself.
Rob has orientation this morning from 10 - 10:30 and guitar tonight. I may have to take him up to his lesson and let him hang out for a few hours in the music store part in order for Tim and me to go see Sen. John McCain speak at a veterans' rally for President Bush. Everything seems to be happening on Wed. nights lately. He's missed several lessons this summer.
I got some planning work done on the Cowford Ball last night and made progress on scrubbing some baseboards and walls so I could get a lot of furniture moved back into place yesterday. Not sure what I'll be doing today in between trips here and there.
Your titles really are creative, Patty, and your posts uplifting. I appreciate that. Rob starts back to school August 9th, so he's got "freedom" until next Monday. We've both got to start getting to bed earlier, so I can get up at 5:30, and he can get up around 6:15. Not looking forward to that, I must say.
Hope everyone has an extraordinary day!

Hurrah! Hurrah!
Remember when we used to learn all the military and patriotic songs in elementary school music? At least we did in MD in the 50's. I wonder if they still do that.

Allison and I will probably go to the zoo this morning. I'll get some walking in then. She wants to "play preschool" later - she's getting in that Kindergarten mode. Meatloaf tonight, with carrots and potatoes, either stovetop or crockpot.
Rhonda, we got off/on again storms from Hurricane Alex, but yanno, it was so similar to what we'd experienced at MIL's (which is the regular weather there this summer), I didn't even think there might be a tropical storm or hurricane off the coast. We were far enough inland here that it didn't affect us much... although that explains the horrendous humidity we had a few days ago! TD #2 looks like it *could* affect you this weekend, but right now it's pretty small, even in cloud coverage. Hopefully it'll veer out to the Atlantic as currently projected.

DH will tell you he had a terrific birthday celebration, capped by the singing duo of the niece and nephew serenading him over the phone with "Happy Birthday (chachacha)...."
I think I felt a breeze stirring outside this morning. Thank goodness! Even though it'll take a while for the heat in the house to dissipate, being outdoors won't be so oppressive.
I've got a checkup this afternoon, which basically means early dismissal for me. Yippee -I feel like a kid going home early for an afternoon of teachers' meetings. I used to love seeing those posted on the school schedule.
On that note, I think I can convince DH that it'll be a nice night for a walk, so the 3-mile route with the mini-hill in the middle will be my cardio workout, and I'll hit the weights when we get home. We both need to make that tiramisu overdose a distant memory.
Patty, it is Wednesday. It's not an age thing; it's a too-much-to-do-to-watch-time-pass thing. People keep telling me our deadline is today, when I know it's tomorrow - they're just not used to having things done ahead of time and being able to take a deep breath before moving on to the next thing. Personally, I'm going to revel in it.
But any reveling will have to wait until after the meeting I have to go to in 5 minutes. Have a good day, everyone!
Donna
Thanks for DH's birthday wishes. It was a fun evening....
