Net carbs news - science or marketing?

I'm full of links today, LOL!

When I was looking up some of the other stuff I shared today, I found this article on WebMD on the Net Carb debate. Remember in the no-fat era when people would eat fat-free snacks until they were gorged and wonder why they were actually gaining weight? It looks like there are numbers games going on here, too, which the public is probably falling for. (It's not a carb-bashing article, but questions some of the products coming out now in the current craze.)

That's why I just eat real, regular, plain ol' food. The only carb measurement I pay attention to is total carbs and fiber. If the total carbs are over 20 per serving, and most of those are from sugar, I eat sparingly or not at all.

It's probably all just marketing, and even though I'm in it, I'm not blinded by the tricks anymore.

Good thing I like my leafy green veggies and a variety of fresh fruits.

Thanks for the link; I'll reread it after lunch.....
