It was a good Saturday. DH and I both worked hard and we both accomplished quite a bit. He stained the front door and it looks beeutiful and well as polyurethaned the front windowsill. I did a few loads of laundry and although I didn't finish all the cleaning-I did a good amount. We rearranged some photos for hanging above our living room sofa-I have a nice collection-my dad loved to dabble in photography and took hundreds of photos. I have some nice ones that he framed from their various vacations and one special collage frame that he put togther especially for me that includes pictures of my mom and dad, my dad and me, my grandparents and my great grandparents. My great grandfather was also a quite wellknown photographer and Eastman Kodak actually did an exhibition about his work a number of years ago. I guess that's where DD got her genes for talent and love of photography! The room is really shaping up and can't wait for our new living room furniture to arrive. I am exhausted though and definitely ready for bed. I'm hoping that it's a good sound sleep since that's been eluding me the past few nights.

Nancy-hope everything is Ok and everyone is safe and sound out your way! Mary sounds like your grocery shopping is being put to good use!

Yesterday was a slower pace around here, but if felt good. I did most of my cleaning on Friday so it was nice not having that added pressure hanging over me. Katie went with my FIL so I headed off to the grocery store. Got that done, and then made some sandwiches and took them over to the boys at the shop. Bill was on his back and belly the entire day trying to get the old paint off the curbs. Forty years worth, and it was a yucky job. He was using a grinder and sander. He got a good amount done, but he was feeling it later. Got Katie a new angel fish for her tank and I got 4 new tetras. Bill and I relaxed after the boys went out and we put Miss Katie to bed. We spent most of the night online looking at Motor-homes. Thinking about buying one over the winter for next racing season. That was my Saturday.

Nancy becareful with that storm. Glad you had a nice visit with your son and his friend, Mary the stew sounds good, how did it turn out? Susan, so glad you got your door done.

My saturday was different.Had a good time with my friends but I realized that maybe what I like most about shopping is being with my sisters and lunch. The only thing I bought all day was a package of muffin mix at a neat cooking store. The weather was beautiful but alittle cool.Lots of traffic once you leave my little town.Princess likes to keep her carriage on the quiet back roads. No makeover because the guy my friend wanted to do it was out sick so we'll try for that another time.

My Saturday was absolutely, positively fantastic... and I've got a bit of a sunburn to prove it! While I didn't get to make a Saturday post, I've read all the ones there, and it sounds like everyone was pretty upbeat with trips, getting together with family and friends, doing something a little different. Yes, y'all are a part of my day too, whether I get to post or not. So often, I'll mention to my husband "a conversation we had on the FOF board". Even though we're not sitting with one another in a break room or cafe', these conversations are just as real as if we were.

Anyway, we headed to the beach for a day trip again, arriving at about noon and leaving at 4:30 - very hard to leave because it was such a beautiful day. We got the same weather Rhonda did, mid-80s, very low humidity, not a cloud in the sky. Allison has learned to time jumping over the waves, and we all caught a few great rides with the body board (Allison and I on the board at the same time. Rip tide was pretty strong 15 feet out, but it was pulling toward the shore on a diagonal and it was *very* shallow. By 20 feet out and beyond, no pull whatsoever, and even Allison could still stand in between waves (this particular beach you can go out 40-50 feet and still stand - nice gently sloping shelf). Sandwiches for lunch, some good snacks. On the way home, we stopped at Perkins for a meal - I had the grilled chicken breast with mushrooms and swiss with broccoli and a salad. But of course, no beach trip is complete without ICE CREAM, and we stopped at a Baskin-Robbins!

BTW, gals... I've noticed this before, but it's hard to put in words. It always astounds me how many body types at a beach, lake or pool. Some better looking than your own, some not. It's a reality check and just makes you realize what a myth the youthful Hollywood body is for most of us. There might be some thinner ones out there, but that doesn't make 'em healthier. We're doing ourselves a great service by choosing health no matter what our body types!
