She had an absolute ball, and can't wait until tomorrow. "We had recess not once, but twice! We had a rest time, and after sat around the rocking chair for story time, Tiffani was still asleep. We had PE and did a listening game where someone thought of something and we had to move like whatever they were thinking of. I sat next to Kourtney. I ate all my lunch - thanks for the note, Mommy! We drew a picture of ourselves and wrote our names on it, and I didn't chew my pencil! Oh Mommy? We leave our nap towels there. And also, Mommy, we leave our supplies there. I didn't know how that was going to work."
I fared alright, except for one time when I went into the kitchen and saw Allison's favorite Bear. He looked so forlorn. I picked him up to put him in her room, and to my surprise tears were streaming down my cheeks! Other than that, I got a workout in, groceries bought and a bit of clean up done.
Two of the pics we took today finished off a roll of film, and I already got 'em back! Had to share, of course.

Oh, Mom, you and Teddy can keep each other company tomorrow! Just prop him up next to your step. Maybe he'll join in .
I can imagine how empty things felt earlier around your house, but it's such a wonderful adventure for Al. She's loving it, obviously, and she's going to blossom so. You and Dan have prepared her well.
Gosh darn you, you made me cry! LOL, I remember when each of mine went off to school for the first time. I did cry a little but I was not alone. Even after putting my Katie (she is the baby) on the bus I still had two little ones I cared for. So I really did not get hit like you did. Katie was in the 2nd grade when I gave up my babysitting and I guess after having kids in the house from ages 18 to 2 it felt great.
Sounds like Allison had an awsome day and I had thought she would. Glad you fared well too, mommy. Each day gets better and easier. I just love hearing all about "their important days" and the "new friends". Keep us posted and please try to redo the photos, I could not open them either.
The day went as I expected...Allison came through like a champ and poor Mom was missing her like crazy. I'm glad you both made it through. It will get easier for you with time.
I got boxes with red x's in them instead of pictures.
Rob had a good day. He seems to like all of his teachers and has a number of friends in his classes, which are of course, the top priorities. ;-) He did say he was told his chemistry teacher is the hardest one. We have a number of things we have to pick up at the store for him tonight. He came home and ate like a horse.
At least day number one is behind us.
Hugs,
Rhonda

Thank you for sharing that with us. It brought back happy memories of when mine started school. They seemed so young and helpless. They grow up fast after school starts, time seems to really start to fly by. I was very active in the PTA & assisted with volunteer work up at the school which helped fill the void from the empty nest syndrome. Now my grandchildren are starting school, which co-incidently is the same elementry school their mom (my oldest DD) went to. I'm really surprised that some of the teachers are still there.
Good Luck, maybe after a little while you can go up and have lunch with her. I've done that with the grandkids a couple of times and it really makes them feel special. Some of the other kids even call me grandma, which always makes me smile.

Couldn't open the pictures. I'll keep trying.
